About TextApprentice

When someone has a major leak, a broken furnace, or another problem that needs fixing, they start calling businesses.

They call the first one.

No answer? They call the next.

And the next.

Many callers don't even leave a voicemail. They're looking for someone who can help them now.

That's the problem TextApprentice solves.

When a business owner is busy on a job and can't answer, their phone still rings first. If they miss the call, TextApprentice automatically texts the caller back within seconds and asks what they need.

The caller's response goes directly to the business owner's phone.

Instead of the interaction ending with an unanswered call or voicemail, a conversation with the business has already started.

The customer has explained what they need. The business owner has their information. And the customer now has a reason to wait for a response rather than simply moving down the list of competitors.

The business owner can finish the job they're on and call the customer back when they're free.

You keep working. TextApprentice starts the conversation.

We're looking for a salesperson who understands that value and can help us get TextApprentice in front of the businesses that need it.

The Opportunity

We're an early-stage company, and this is currently a commission-based position without a base salary.

In exchange, we've designed the compensation around recurring revenue rather than a one-time sales commission.

You'll earn 20% recurring commission on the customers you personally bring to TextApprentice.

Initially, that commission is paid for up to 12 months from each customer's signup date.

But there's an additional incentive:

Bring in 10 active paying clients and unlock ongoing recurring commission.

Once you've personally acquired 10 active paying TextApprentice clients, your commission on your qualifying book of business becomes ongoing.

That means you'll continue earning your 20% commission from the customers you've brought in for as long as they remain paying TextApprentice clients.

If they stay for two years, you get paid for two years.

If they stay for five years, you get paid for five years.

The goal is to give the right salesperson an opportunity to build a book of customers that generates recurring income instead of starting from zero every month.

There is no cap on the number of clients you can acquire or the commission you can earn.

Full commission terms, including qualifying revenue, attribution, cancellations and payment timing, will be provided in writing.

What You'll Be Selling

TextApprentice is designed primarily for trades and service businesses - plumbers, electricians, HVAC companies, contractors, landscapers, roofers, painters, cleaners, technicians and other businesses whose people can't always stop what they're doing to answer the phone.

The sales conversation starts with a simple question:

"What happens when a potential customer calls while you can't answer?"

For many businesses, the answer is voicemail.

But someone with a leaking pipe, no heat, an electrical problem or another urgent need may not leave a message and wait.

They may simply call the next company.

TextApprentice gives the business an opportunity to engage that potential customer immediately.

Their existing phone still rings first. If they answer, nothing changes. If they don't, the call routes to TextApprentice and the caller receives a text within seconds asking what they need. Their reply goes directly to the business owner.

The business owner hasn't had to stop working, but the potential customer has already started a conversation with their company.

You're not selling complicated software. You're selling a simple idea: don't let an unanswered phone call be the end of the conversation.

What You'll Do

You'll take ownership of finding and converting new TextApprentice customers.

That may include prospecting businesses, cold calling, cold emailing, social media outreach, contacting businesses advertising their services, conducting product demonstrations, following up with interested prospects and helping new customers get started.

You'll be expected to:

- Identify trades and service businesses that could benefit from TextApprentice

- Start conversations with owners and decision-makers

- Explain the problem TextApprentice solves in simple terms

- Demonstrate how the service works

- Follow up consistently with interested prospects

- Close new customers

- Maintain professional relationships with the clients you bring in

- Share feedback from sales conversations so we can continue improving the product, pricing and pitch

We're not looking for someone to follow a rigid corporate sales process.

We're looking for someone who can understand the product, find businesses that need it, start conversations and turn those conversations into customers.

You'll have flexibility in how you prospect and sell, provided customers are represented honestly and professionally.

Who We're Looking For

You don't necessarily need years of formal sales experience.

You do need to be comfortable approaching business owners, hearing "no," following up, and continuing to prospect without someone standing over your shoulder.

This could be a strong fit for someone who:

- Has sales, business development, door-to-door, appointment-setting or cold-calling experience

- Has sold to tradespeople or small-business owners

- Understands the trades or home-services market

- Is comfortable finding their own prospects

- Can explain a product simply and clearly

- Communicates naturally rather than sounding scripted

- Is persistent without being pushy

- Works well independently

- Wants to build recurring commission income

- Is interested in helping grow an early-stage business

Previous sales experience is an asset, but we're more interested in someone who can start conversations, follow up and close.

What Success Looks Like

Your first major target is straightforward:

10 active paying clients.

Reach that milestone and you unlock the ongoing recurring commission structure on your qualifying book of business.

From there, the opportunity is to keep building.

10 clients becomes 20.

20 becomes 50.

50 becomes 100.

Because TextApprentice generates recurring revenue, a salesperson who builds a strong portfolio of customers has the opportunity to build recurring commissions alongside it.

Compensation

This is currently a commission-only position with no base salary.

You will receive:

20% recurring commission on eligible revenue from customers you personally acquire.

Before reaching the milestone, commission is payable for up to 12 months from each customer's signup date.

Reach 10 active paying clients:

You unlock ongoing 20% recurring commission on your qualifying book of business for as long as those customers remain active paying TextApprentice clients.

Customer stays for five years?

Your commission can continue for five years.

There is no commission cap.

Complete commission terms, including eligible revenue, client attribution, payment timing, cancellations and other conditions, will be documented in the sales representative agreement.

TextApprentice Pricing

Our current plans include:

Starter - $50/month + $5 per recovered call

$0 base fee for the first 30 days.

Unlimited - $299/month

Flat monthly pricing with recovered calls included.

Annual - $3,000/year

Flat annual pricing.

This gives you multiple options depending on the size and call volume of the business you're speaking with.
