Original job description
At TFI International, you'll help strengthen the security and resiliency of the technology environment behind one of North America's largest transportation and logistics organizations. As a Senior Security & Infrastructure Platform Administrator, you'll take ownership of critical security and infrastructure platforms and keep them secure, reliable, documented, and continuously improved.
This is a hands-on role where you'll work alongside experienced architects, infrastructure specialists, cloud administrators, and cybersecurity professionals in a customer-focused, collaborative IT team. You'll build expertise across both infrastructure and security domains, influence technology decisions and operational practices, and help develop the next generation of technology specialists.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Security & Infrastructure Platform Administrator, reporting to the Senior Manager, IT Systems within IT Infrastructure & Operations, you'll progressively assume ownership of key security platforms while building infrastructure resiliency and elevating the capabilities of the team around you.
- Take ownership of key security platforms, including endpoint security (SentinelOne), vulnerability management (Qualys VMDR), privileged access management (PAM), security monitoring, and SSL/TLS certificate management.
- Administer and improve infrastructure platforms across Linux, Windows Server, container technologies, enterprise backups (Veeam), infrastructure monitoring, and Microsoft Azure & Azure Arc.
- Strengthen disaster recovery readiness and reduce key-person dependency across critical infrastructure services.
- Drive automation and operational efficiency using PowerShell and scripting and orchestration platforms.
- Participate in incident response and root-cause analysis.
- Develop operational procedures, standards, and runbooks, and support security tool governance.
- Support strategic initiatives and technology deployments.
- Collaborate across infrastructure, security, cloud, and application teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve reliability, security, and operational maturity.
- Coach and mentor team members through knowledge transfer, documentation, training, and day-to-day collaboration.
Qualifications
We're seeking a hands-on IT professional who wants accountability, not just administration. The ideal candidate takes responsibility for outcomes rather than tasks, enjoys improving systems and processes, balances technical depth with operational accountability, and challenges the status quo when better solutions exist, while helping others grow their technical capabilities and confidence.
- Strong enterprise infrastructure or security administration experience.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of technology platforms and outcomes.
- Experience documenting processes and procedures.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Curiosity, initiative, and a continuous-learning mindset.
- Experience with Linux administration, security platforms, vulnerability management, endpoint security, and privileged access management.
- Experience with Veeam, container technologies, infrastructure monitoring, Azure administration, and PowerShell automation.
