Job Summary
The Spanish Tutors tutor students at all levels of Spanish language study, but work primarily with first and second-year language students in one-on-one oral assignments.
Job Duties
- Conduct one-on-one oral practice assignments with first and second year Spanish students
- Basic record keeping of oral assignments
- Offer walk-in or Zoom-based tutoring service during posted hours
- Proctoring exams
- Administering the Spanish Placement Exam during new student orientations
- Maintaining and posting available hours
- Maintain confidentiality
- Other duties as necessary or assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a current CSS student
- Very high proficiency in Spanish is required
- Strong organizational and time management skills required.
Job Functions
- Require sitting during shift.
- Professional presence to represent the College to the public required.
- Ability to perform all of the above functions during an assigned workday without significant risk of injury.
- Good attendance is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Very high proficiency in Spanish is required.
- Native speakers of English should have completed SPN 3102 or an equivalent course.
- Strong organizational and time management skills required, especially keeping records of students helped.
- Good attendance is mandatory.
- Good interpersonal skills.
