ECH - Design Merchandiser

Empire Homes is seeking a Design Merchandiser! In this position, you will be responsible for Design Studio maintenance; this includes continuously improving materials, upgrade options, & displays to ensure the Design Centre maximizes sales potential.The Design Merchandiser collaborates with Procurement & Design to execute product implementation & strategies to improve efficiencies, and supports the Manager, Interior Design & Merchandising. 

This role is located at our Empire Homes Design Studio located in Caledonia, ON. This posting is for a replacement position. The expected annual salary range for this role in $65,000 - $80,000/year. This position is also eligible to participate in our short-term incentive program.

What We Are Looking For:

• Post secondary education in Interior Decorating or Interior Design.
• 3+ years experience in the new home building industry in a Design Centre setting.
• Strong problem-solving skills identifying and resolving challenges related to products, pricing & business process.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency & production schedule.
• Detail-oriented, self starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.
• Creative mindset with the ability to source & implement new options.
• Experience with NewStar & DSM considered an asset.
• Experience with graphic design considered an asset.
• Visual Merchandising experience considered as asset. Note: While some aspects of the role may require staging, this is not a Visual Merchandising position.
• Valid G Driver’s License.
• The role requires approximately 60% travel, including regular travel to various project sites and business locations.

What You’ll Be Doing Each Day  

• Assisting Merchandising Manager with staging projects.
• Assistance with model home & design package selections & recording upgrade options in NewStar.
• Model home / special projects O&E’s & file management on SharePoint.
• Creating and maintaining Design Guides.
• Managing imagery for Design Studio Manager (DSM).
• Researching details & determining descriptions for new products.
• Communicating with trades concerning product updates & replacement.
• Facilitating & processing reselections.
• Researching & gathering information concerning latest interior design trends.
