Shift: Monday to Friday 6:00am-3:00pm

SUMMARY

Responsible for the planning, organizing and supervision of all dispatch team members.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the scheduling of employee shifts, holidays, sick days and time off.
Responsible for conducting yearly performance reviews of employees.
Assist HR in the hiring of new staff.
Monitor the performance of the local Trenton drivers.
Work closely with routing, and dispatch to ensure delivery schedules and appointments are met.
Assist in developing and maintaining KPI’s as corporately directed.
Be knowledgeable of driver bid runs, tractor assignments, and company policies.
Work in conjunction with Driver Supervisors in dealing with driver issues.
Be knowledgeable of security and food safety rules and regulations.
Provide vacation coverage as required and be flexible to work other shifts as required.
Assist in implementing new operational systems with the Operations Manager.
All other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

Employee must possess a strong understanding of Erb Dispatch computer system, satellite communication.
Must possess a strong transportation background and proven customer service skills.
This individual must have the ability to manage people fairly and firmly according to company policy.
Must possess excellent time management and organizational skills.
College graduation or equivalent experience preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience preferred in transportation and customer service.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Salaried position based on 45 hours per week.
Note: that shift/days might fluctuate if volumes increase or decrease.
