Key Responsibilities
Inventory Control & Reconciliation
- Maintain accurate inventory records across all material categories.
- Monitor inventory transactions and investigate discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of material movements, consumption, adjustments, and transfers.
- Coordinate cycle counts, physical inventories, and month-end inventory activities.
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Identify and resolve inventory variances and process gaps.
- Support financial inventory reconciliation and audit requirements.
Material & Scrap Inventory Management
- Oversee the tracking and control of internal and external material inventories.
- Ensure inventory transactions are processed accurately and consistently.
- Monitor material quality, inventory integrity, and storage practices.
- Coordinate inventory verification activities, inspections, testing programs, and material reconciliation efforts.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Work with operations and suppliers to improve inventory accuracy, material utilization, and overall inventory performance.
Reporting & Analytics
- Develop and maintain inventory reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
- Generate routine and ad hoc reports related to inventory transactions, material movements, inventory variances, and reconciliation activities.
- Monitor inventory trends and identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction. Inventory min/max optimization.
- Analyze data from ERP and operational systems to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Provide regular inventory performance updates to management and key stakeholders.
- Support decision-making through detailed inventory analysis and reporting.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure inventory procedures comply with company policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external audits related to inventory management and material control.
- Maintain documentation and traceability of inventory records and transactions.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with Quality and Operations teams to address inventory-related concerns.
Training & Development Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in inventory and material management training programs.
- Support employee development in inventory control, material inspection, and inventory accuracy processes.
- Develop and maintain work instructions, procedures, and training materials.
- Ensure employees understand applicable material specifications and inventory management requirements.
- Coordinate training related to inspection methods, testing equipment, and inventory systems.
- Support and train personnel on month-end inventory count procedures and inventory reconciliation processes.
Qualifications
Education
- College diploma or university degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in inventory management, materials management, warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain functions.
- Experience within manufacturing, metals, industrial, or heavy manufacturing environments preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing inventory controls, reconciliations, and reporting processes.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and inventory management software.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and data analysis capabilities.
- Experience with inventory reporting, KPI development, and process improvement initiatives.
- Strong understanding of inventory control principles and material traceability.

Primary Objective
To ensure the integrity, accuracy, visibility, and optimization of inventory across the organization while supporting operational efficiency, financial accountability, and strategic decision-making. Through effective inventory controls, reporting, material management, and team leadership, the Inventory Supervisor will drive continuous improvement and support the organization's production, quality, and cost objectives.
