Miller Maintenance proudly provides maintenance services on Maintenance Contracts for the Ministry of Transportation throughout Ontario. Our leadership in the Ontario road and highway maintenance industry is based on our commitment to continuous improvement through education, innovation, safety, and training.

Minimum Qualifications

DZ or AZ license with a clean driver’s abstract & CVOR
Available to respond to call-ins within thirty minutes
Ability to operate a loader and perform other maintenance duties such a patrolling, patching, and minor equipment maintenance
Ability to work assigned shifts, and extended hours (evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays) as winter events require
Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to drive manual transmission
Previous experience in winter-works operations
Mechanical knowledge, ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to equipment as required
Good understanding of MTO standards and AMC Contract Performance Requirements

$28.35/hr

Day in the Life

Our Snow Plow Operators are an integral member of our winter maintenance team. You will safely operate a combo plow unit, performing snow removal on local roads and highways as per the contract requirements. When you are not on the road, it will be important to maintain accurate documentation such as fuel reports, safety reports and hours of service as well as maintain and clean the equipment, conducting routine maintenance and minor repairs. You will familiarize yourself to understand route maps and sand/salt application rates and meet call in requirements during winter storm events.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a combination plow unit to clear snow from local roads and highways according to contract requirements, and respond to winter storm call-ins. Maintain accurate fuel, safety, and hours-of-service records, keep equipment clean, and perform routine maintenance and minor repairs.

Requirements

Applicants must hold a DZ or AZ license with a clean driver's abstract and CVOR, be able to respond to call-ins within 30 minutes, and be available for assigned shifts and extended hours in extreme weather. The role also requires loader operation and other maintenance duties; manual transmission experience, winter-works experience, mechanical knowledge, and familiarity with MTO standards are preferred.
