The Role

We are seeking a Strategy Director to guide and mentor a team of strategists and analysts and lead our agency’s strategic planning efforts. The Strategy Director will help us grow relationships with our clients and become their trusted advisor as well as collaboratively lead teams to deliver bold and effective work.

Reporting to the Managing Partner, this person will play a senior role on the team developing and implementing strategic plans for our clients that align with their business goals and objectives.

The Strategy Director is responsible to be the following:

Brand Champion and Architect with expertise across the marketing ecosystem

Accountable for the agency’s strategic product, ensuring all work begins with a strong, insight-led foundation that fuels bold, category subverting ideas.
Lead brand and integrated communications strategies with understanding of paid, owned and earned to effectively meet KPIs.
Author brilliant briefs and lead inspiring and clear briefings.
Develop messaging frameworks, content and connections plans that showcase how the brand strategy is communicated across platforms; and shepherd through the creative.
Design and facilitate brainstorming sessions, collaborative workshops, extensive strategy and tactical planning exercises where needed.
Provide compelling leadership and presentation skills that fuels trusts and agency credibility.
Lead research (including methodology design and moderation, as needed) to uncover insights, segmentation, creative feedback, etc.
Help clients understand and feel safe to embrace bold, category-disrupting creative work that gets noticed and drives results.
Own our measurement approach, establishing plans prior to kick off with real-time analysis, optimization and post program reporting with future recommendations.

Develop thought leadership and train on behalf of agency.
Develop new strategic approaches and tools rooted in AI that can be leveraged across projects.
Identify, pitch, and win new business; in addition to generating new organic business.

Leader, Collaborator and Team Player

Participate in new business development, owning the strategic product and actively participating in the creative development process.
Build relationships with senior clients to shape brand, marketing, and cultural strategies that unlock long-term growth.
Plan and host client workshops that unlock new creative opportunities and business initiatives with current and new clients.
Help clients understand and feel safe to embrace bold, category-disrupting creative work that gets noticed and drives results.
Lead the use of measurement frameworks that prove out the value of our work.

As the Strategy Director, you should be:

Armed with a minimum 7-10 years experience in Brand and Comms Strategy in a creative, integrated agency environment creating impactful work; specifically a background in integrated planning (digital, social, content, audio, experiential, pr).
A master of cultural trends.
A strong storyteller with refined presentation and writings skills.
An analytical and creative thinker, with understanding of best practises in multiple channels.
A proven leader that has led strategy teams prior.
Highly organized, agile, and proactive to excel and multi-task in the fast paced agency environment.
An AI adopter who believes it enhances their product & efficiency in doing so.
Fully fluent in English; other languages considered a plus.
Lawfully able to work in Canada, and enthusiastic for a safe, hybrid work culture.

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $125,000–$150,000. Individual compensation within this range is determined based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, level of responsibility, internal equity, and business needs. This range represents the expected base salary for this role and does not include other elements of Mint’s total rewards program.

Requirements

Requires 7–10 years of brand and communications strategy experience in a creative, integrated agency, including planning across digital, social, content, audio, experiential, and PR, as well as prior leadership of strategy teams. Candidates should be strong storytellers and presenters, culturally informed, analytical and creative, organized and adaptable, fluent in English, legally authorized to work in Canada, and comfortable with a hybrid work culture.
