Original job description
Associate Private Wealth Advisor | Vancouver, BC
We are working in exclusive partnership with one of Canada's leading boutique wealth practices, a team trusted by some of the country's most successful families, entrepreneurs and family offices.
Why this opportunity is different
Associate roles at most firms mean years of reports and admin before you are trusted in front of a client. This team takes a different approach. You will learn alongside the founder and senior partners from your first month, sit in on prospect meetings and client reviews, and take on more responsibility as you show what you can do.
The practice is small and selective, takes on only a handful of new families a year, and has a clear ten year plan to grow significantly. The founder is building a succession plan and wants to develop the next generation of advisors from within. If you are ambitious and have been waiting for the chance to step up, this is a place where that can happen.
What you will do
- Support high net worth and ultra high net worth families, taking on more ownership of client meetings and follow up over time
- Coordinate advice across investment, tax, estate and insurance with clients' other professional advisors
- Join prospect meetings, help build a pipeline and turn introductions into relationships
- Partner with portfolio managers and analysts on research, portfolio reviews and recommendations
- Use modern CRM and AI tools to improve efficiency and client service
What you bring
- 3 to 5 years in wealth management, private wealth, private banking or investment advisory
- CIRO registration, or a clear path to obtaining it
- CIM, CFP, CFA or CAIA preferred
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with energy and the ability to connect with sophisticated clients
- Authenticity, discretion and a team first mindset
- A stable track record and real drive to build a long term career
The environment
You will work in a close, high performance team with significant senior experience, a premium downtown Vancouver office and the backing of a large independent wealth management firm. The practice invests in the development of people who bring drive and a strong work ethic.
This is an in person role in Vancouver. All conversations are confidential.
