- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
- Supervise other workers

Read blueprints and prepare layouts that comply with building codes, then measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join wood and other materials. Install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware; supervise workers and estimate costs and materials.
Requirements
Requires a secondary school graduation certificate and 7 months to less than 1 year of experience.
