HR and Recruitment Specialist
Nisku, AB (On-site)
We are hiring an HR and Recruitment Specialist to look after our people operations, talent acquisition, and employer brand across Western Canada. This is an all-in-one, high-impact role focused on supporting our team, keeping our frontline medical pipeline full, and ensuring our field personnel and candidates have an exceptional end-to-end experience.
You’ll join a collaborative, fast-paced environment providing critical medical standby and occupational health services to industrial worksites. Reporting directly to executive leadership, you will wear multiple hats, owning human resources fundamentals, recruiting skilled medics for rotational deployments, and driving our social media presence to tell our story online.
What You'll Do
HR
- Manage end-to-end onboarding, including offer letters, employment contracts, orientations, and new-hire documentation.
- Maintain secure, confidential employee records, ensuring seamless communication of pay changes and new hires to payroll.
- Track and audit professional certifications and provincial licences to guarantee every team member deployed on site is fully compliant.
- Keep HR policies updated and act as the trusted, approachable first point of contact for employee inquiries.
Recruitment
- Proactively source and recruit Advanced Care Paramedics (ACPs), Primary Care Paramedics (PCPs), and Emergency Medical Responders (EMRs) for rotational work across Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan.
- Build and nurture an active talent pool to rapidly staff project startups, site expansions, and winter surge demands with staggered deployment schedules.
- Partner with paramedic colleges, licensing bodies, specialized job boards, and industry communities to attract talent.
- Screen candidates, coordinate hiring steps, and track recruitment source analytics to evaluate what channels deliver the best results.
Social Media
- Manage and schedule regular content across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and X.
- Craft transparent, engaging job posts that highlight competitive compensation and plainly describe the reality of the work.
- Source authentic field photos (with proper consent) to highlight our team in action and report weekly metrics on content engagement.
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years of progressive experience in human resources or recruiting, paired with hands-on social media management.
- Working knowledge of provincial employment standards and labour regulations across Western Canada (AB, BC, and SK).
- High discretion and sound professional judgment when managing confidential employee and medical compliance files.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to write clear, plain-language job posts and social content that people actually share.
- Strong organizational habits and comfort navigating Microsoft 365, Meta Business Suite, applicant tracking/HR systems, and job boards.
Bonus Points
- CPHR designation (or actively working toward it).
- Prior background or familiarity within EMS, healthcare, occupational health, or energy/industrial sectors.
- Experience staffing rotational or remote field positions across multiple provinces.
Additional Details
- Full-time, permanent position based at our Nisku, AB office.
- Competitive compensation package (commensurate with experience).
- Direct visibility with leadership and ownership over recruitment and HR initiatives.
This is an opportunity to directly shape how medical professionals discover and experience our company, building a dependable frontline talent pipeline, strengthening internal HR support, and making a measurable impact on workplace health and safety across Western Canada.
