Original job description
Our client is looking for a hands-on HR Generalist to join our Executive Services team. Working closely with the Vice President, People & Corporate Services, you will lead recruitment, including our LinkedIn hiring, and manage the key moments of the employee lifecycle: offers and contracts, onboarding, promotions, probation, terminations and exit interviews. You will be the VP’s right hand on all HR matters, keeping documentation accurate, timelines on track and the employee experience consistent.
This is an ideal role for an organized, people-first HR professional who enjoys variety, takes ownership and handles confidential matters with care.
Recruitment & LinkedIn
Hiring
- Manage xxxx LinkedIn and/or Dayforce hiring end to end: writing and posting jobs, managing LinkedIn Recruiter and job slots, sourcing candidates and maintaining our employer presence.
- Screen applicants, coordinate interviews with hiring managers and keep candidates informed at every stage.
- Ensure job postings meet Ontario requirements, including salary disclosure and timely responses to interviewed candidates.
- Track open roles and candidate pipelines, and provide regular hiring updates to the VP.
Offers, Contracts & Employee
Changes
- Prepare offer letters and employment contracts for new hires using approved templates.
- Prepare promotion letters and updated offer letters for changes in title, role or compensation.
- Maintain accurate, confidential employee files and contract records.
Onboarding & Benefits
- Assist with onboarding so new hires feel welcome and are ready from day one: paperwork, system setup, orientation and introductions.
- Coordinate benefit start dates with our benefits provider and make sure new employees are enrolled on time.
- Track probation periods and alert the VP ahead of each employee’s end of probation so reviews and decisions happen on time.
Terminations & Offboarding
- Assist the VP with terminations, including preparing letters and documentation and coordinating the offboarding checklist.
- Conduct exit interviews and share themes and insights with the VP.
- Coordinate the return of company equipment, removal of system access and benefits termination.
HR Support to the VP
- Support the Vice President, People & Corporate Services with all HR-related tasks, projects and initiatives.
- Act as an approachable first point of contact for employee HR questions, escalating to the VP as appropriate.
- Help keep HR policies, templates and processes current and compliant with Ontario employment legislation.
- Support HR programs such as Dayforce performance reviews, training and employee engagement initiatives.
Requirements
Required
- 3 years of HR generalist experience.
- Proven experience managing recruitment through LinkedIn, including LinkedIn Recruiter.
- Experience preparing offer letters, employment contracts and employee change documentation.
- Working knowledge of Ontario employment legislation, including the ESA, Human Rights Code and AODA.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business or a related field.
- Strong Microsoft 365 skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and complete discretion with confidential information.
Preferred
- CHRP or CHRL designation (or working toward it) with HRPA.
- Experience with Dayforce or a similar HRIS.
- Experience with benefits enrolment and administration.
