Position Overview

The Regional Sales Manager, Alberta is responsible for driving profitable revenue growth, market share expansion, and customer retention across Alberta's non-acute healthcare market.

The role leads a team of four Territory Managers focused on Primary Care Networks, physician clinics, surgical centres, specialty clinics, community healthcare providers, occupational health clinics, ambulatory care centres, and other healthcare facilities currently serviced by Stevens, CB Medical and other competitors.

The Regional Sales Manager is accountable for developing and executing strategic sales plans, coaching and developing Territory Managers, managing key customer relationships, and ensuring the successful implementation of Stevens' go-to-market strategy throughout Alberta.

Success in this role requires strong leadership, business acumen, accountability, coaching, strategic planning, and a passion for driving sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Team Management

Recruit, onboard, develop, coach, and retain a high-performing team of Territory Managers.
Establish clear performance expectations and accountability measures for all direct reports.
Conduct regular field coaching and joint customer visits with Territory Managers.
Develop Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and succession plans for each team member.
Drive a culture of accountability, customer focus, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, territory reviews, and performance evaluations.

Revenue Growth & Market Expansion

Develop and execute the Alberta Non-Acute growth strategy.
Lead efforts to increase market share within:
Primary Care Networks
Family Health Clinics:

o Physician Offices

o Surgical Centres

o Specialty Clinics

o Community Healthcare Facilities

o Independent Healthcare Providers

Develop strategies to convert business currently serviced by CB Medical and other competitors.
Identify emerging healthcare markets and growth opportunities.
Achieve regional revenue, gross margin, and profitability targets.

Coaching & Territory Development

Conduct regular territory business reviews with each Territory Manager.
Assist Territory Managers in developing and executing territory business plans.
Coach the team on prospecting, pipeline management, presentations, negotiations, and closing strategies.
Ensure consistent CRM utilization and opportunity management.
Support strategic account planning and customer retention initiatives.

Customer & Vendor Relationship Management

Maintain relationships with key decision-makers, executive sponsors, and strategic healthcare customers across Alberta.
Participate in major sales presentations, contract negotiations, and customer reviews.
Serve as executive escalation support for major customer issues.
Build strong partnerships with manufacturer representatives and vendor stakeholders.
Support vendor growth initiatives and business plans.

Financial & Operational Leadership

Develop annual revenue, gross margin, and expense budgets.
Own regional forecasting accuracy.
Review customer profitability and territory performance regularly.
Drive pricing compliance and margin improvement initiatives.
Partner with Finance
Identify inventory opportunities and support inventory reduction initiatives.

Strategic Planning & Analytics

Utilize Power BI, CRM, ERP systems, and sales reporting tools to monitor performance.
Analyze:

o Revenue trends

o Product mix

o New customer growth

o Gross margin

o Quote-to-order conversion

o Customer profitability

o Market share opportunities

Provide recommendations for improving performance and customer engagement.

Cross-Functional Leadership

Work closely with:

o Customer Service

o Contracts & Quotations

o Marketing

o Operations

o Finance

o Supply Chain

o Vendor Partners

Ensure customer needs are communicated effectively throughout the organization.
Support successful execution of strategic initiatives and product launches.

Key Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
Minimum 7 years of healthcare, medical device, or distribution sales experience.
Minimum 3 years of sales leadership experience.
Demonstrated success leading geographically dispersed sales teams.
Experience selling into:

o Primary Care

o Ambulatory Care

o Surgical Centres

o Community Healthcare

o Physician Practices

o Healthcare Distribution Markets

Strong financial acumen and understanding of revenue, margin, profitability, and forecasting.
Experience using CRM, Power BI, and ERP platforms.
Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and coaching skills.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to travel extensively throughout Alberta.
Valid passport required.
