Automotive Service Technician

On behalf of our client, OK Tire & Auto Service, we are looking for experienced Automotive Service Advisors to join their teams at multiple locations throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality.

As an Automotive Service Advisor, you'll be the connection between customers and technicians, helping ensure everything runs smoothly from the moment a vehicle arrives until it's ready to be picked up.

You'll listen to customer concerns, explain recommended repairs and maintenance, coordinate with technicians, and keep customers informed throughout the process.

This is a great opportunity for someone who already has Service Advisor experience and enjoys the combination of customer service, automotive knowledge, and keeping a busy shop organized.

The Ideal Candidate:

You're an experienced Service Advisor who genuinely enjoys helping customers and understands the importance of building trust through clear, honest communication.

You're comfortable discussing vehicle maintenance and repairs, explaining estimates, and recommending services that make sense for the customer. You also understand how important it is to maintain strong communication with technicians to keep the shop running efficiently.

You're organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple priorities without losing track of the details. When things get busy, you stay calm, communicate clearly, and work with your team to keep everything moving.

Responsibilities:

• Provide friendly, professional service to customers throughout their service experience.
  
• Listen to customer concerns and accurately identify their vehicle maintenance and repair needs.
  
• Recommend appropriate maintenance and repair services.
  
• Prepare and clearly explain service estimates, repair recommendations, and invoices.
  
• Coordinate with technicians to support an efficient daily workflow.
  
• Keep customers informed of repair progress, timelines, and any changes to recommended work.
  
• Schedule service appointments and assist with managing daily shop workflow.
  
• Follow up with customers regarding declined or recommended repairs.
  
• Build and maintain positive, long-term customer relationships.
  
• Help ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  
• Maintain an organized and professional service area.
  
• Work collaboratively with technicians and other team members to support smooth day-to-day operations.
  

Requirements

• Previous automotive Service Advisor experience is required, with at least one year preferred.
  
• Strong automotive knowledge and understanding of vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  
• Experience using automotive point-of-sale or shop management software is considered an asset.
  
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  
• Confident in communicating repair recommendations, estimates, and maintenance requirements.
  
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy service environment.
  
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  
• Comfortable communicating with both customers and automotive technicians.
  
• Positive, professional, and team-oriented approach.
  
• Dependable, with a strong commitment to customer service and teamwork.
  

Benefits

• $23.00–$26.00 per hour, depending on experience.
