Job Description:
Job Title: Senior Linux Administrator – Azure Cloud.
Location: Toronto, ON.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid.
Employment Type: Contract.
Contract Duration: Starts with 12 Months.
Experience: 10+ Years.
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Linux Administrator with strong knowledge of Azure Cloud infrastructure, server administration, troubleshooting, and cloud operations. The candidate should have hands-on experience managing Linux servers in on-premises and Azure cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
- Manage Azure cloud infrastructure, including Virtual Machines, storage, networking, and backups.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure server availability.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, SSH, file systems, and security patches.
- Perform server upgrades, patch management, and vulnerability remediation.
- Support cloud migration, disaster recovery, and business continuity activities.
- Work with Azure networking, NSGs, VNets, and load balancing.
- Automate routine administration tasks using Shell or Bash scripting.
- Monitor infrastructure using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
- Handle incident management, root-cause analysis, and production support.
Required Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in Linux System Administration.
- Strong hands-on experience with RHEL, CentOS, or Ubuntu.
- Practical experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud services.
- Knowledge of Azure VMs, VNets, NSGs, storage accounts, and backups.
- Experience in system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Good knowledge of networking, DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls, and SSH.
- Scripting experience in Shell or Bash.
- Knowledge of security hardening, patching, and disaster recovery.
Good to Have:
- Azure Administrator Associate certification (AZ-104).
- Experience with Ansible, Terraform, or other automation tools.
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools.
- Experience with ITIL, incident management, and change management.
