About Think Academy

Think Academy Online is a leading education technology company dedicated to providing high-quality K–12 supplemental learning services through innovative digital instruction. We believe that inspired teaching, thoughtful curriculum, and carefully designed reading experiences empower students to grow academically and confidently. Our programs are designed with research-based pedagogy and delivered by experienced educators.

About This Role

Think Academy US is looking for an ELA Teacher Recruitment & Training Specialist to build the teaching team for our US Online English Language Arts program. Based in our downtown Toronto office, you will own the process from finding and assessing teacher candidates through training and readiness for their first class.

You will work closely with the ELA teaching team to understand hiring needs, maintain a strong candidate pipeline, and help new teachers meet our instructional standards. Your success will be measured by both the number of teachers ready to teach and the quality of their teaching when they begin.

What You'll Do

Teaching - Approximately 10–15 hours/week

Teach live online ELA small-group classes focused on Reading, Speaking, and Writing for elementary students.

Recruit ELA Teachers - Approximately 15–20 hours/week

Source candidates through job boards, universities, referrals, and educator networks.
Manage postings, screening, interviews, and teaching demos.
Maintain candidate communication and accurate pipeline records.

Teacher Training & Teaching Quality 5-7 hours/week

Support onboarding and training for new ELA teachers.
Observe classes and provide practical feedback to help teachers improve.
Share best practices and support consistent teaching quality across the team.

What We're Looking For:

Fluent English proficiency, with the ability to communicate clearly and naturally in both spoken and written English-fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
Prior tutoring, teaching assistant, or other student-facing teaching experience is strongly preferred.
Eager to learn and grow, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsible and caring when working with students and families, with strong ownership of the student experience.

Work Schedule

Tuesday–Saturday: On-site at the downtown Toronto office
Working hours: 10:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.

Compensation

Expected annual total compensation: CAD $80,000–$90,000, including a base salary of CAD $78,000–$80,000 and a performance-based teaching bonus of up to 10% of base salary.
Benefits:
- Paid Vacation: 10 days earned for every 12 months worked, with vacation pay. Unused vacation balance is paid out at year-end.
- Health Insurance: Sun Life Class A coverage available from your first day. The company covers 80% of the total premium, including any dependent coverage you choose.
- Group RRSP: Access to a Group RRSP for voluntary employee contributions; no employer matching.
Gain hands-on experience and take ownership of meaningful recruitment and teacher training projects from an early stage.
Receive structured mentorship and direct coaching from experienced leaders, with the opportunity to progress into a management role within 2–3 years based on performance and business needs.
Collaborate with teams across our global education company, with potential opportunities to work with international offices and headquarters.

What Success Looks Like

Hiring needs are translated into a reliable pipeline of qualified ELA teacher candidates.
New teachers complete training and are ready to teach on schedule.
Teachers who pass training meet the ELA team’s standards in their first classes.
Teaching high quality ELA classes and provide personalized homework feedback to students.

Think Academy is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or protected veteran status and will not be discriminated against on the basis of disability.
