About the Opportunity

THRIVE Child Development Centre is looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting & Payroll Clerk to join our collaborative team.

This is a contract position begin in November 2026 and continue through June 2027, with the potential for extension. The position will initially be scheduled for approximately 15-20 hours per week, with the possibility of increasing to up to 37.5 hours per week based on organizational needs.

As the Accounting & Payroll Clerk, you will support the day-to-day financial operations of the Centre, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, reconciliations, payroll support, and financial record maintenance. Working closely with the Business Director and Finance & Payroll Administrator, you will play an important role in ensuring accurate, timely, and confidential financial processes.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, managing recurring deadlines, solving discrepancies, and contributing to accurate and efficient financial processes within a multidisciplinary organization.

What You Bring:

College diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience with financial and payroll systems
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Knowledge of financial data entry, reconciliation, documentation, and payroll support processes.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
The ability to manage recurring deadlines and work within established procedures.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team.
Professionalism, discretion, and the ability to protect confidential financial, client, and employee information.
Related experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable; payroll exposure is an asset.
Experience with Sage 300 General Ledger, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable and ADP Payroll is considered an asset
Non-profit organization experience is an asset
