Original job description

At Conexus, we are focused on supporting our members with their needs of today, while also helping them pursue their goals for the future. It’s more than conducting a banking transaction, it’s about providing insightful content, tools, expert advice, and a full suite of products to inspire confidence in their financial decision-making. We prioritize performance excellence, and our employees champion each member’s success, ultimately contributing to a thriving province.

We are curious, courageous, confident and committed. Our values ensure we consistently deliver outstanding member experiences. As employees, we are more than just individuals who come to work each day, each role is a vital part of Conexus.

As of January 1, 2026, Conexus, Cornerstone, and Synergy credit unions have merged into one provincial credit union serving over 200,000 members in 57 branches across 50 Saskatchewan communities.

We acknowledge that our Conexus offices and facilities are located on Treaty 2, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 lands. These are the traditional lands of the Cree, Dakota, Dene, Lakota, Nakota and Saulteaux peoples, as well as the homeland of the Métis.

The bigger picture

We’re looking for two collaborative and self-motivated individuals to come on board as Financing Specialists to support our Commercial Business Advisors.

As a Financing Specialist you are responsible for strong business, financial, and credit analysis to provide enhanced solutions and recommendations that support our members' financial goals and grow our business. You will work alongside our sales team of Business Advisors to create credit solutions that balance Conexus risk tolerance and deliver a high level of service to our members.

How you’ll be spending your time

Analyzing commercial and agricultural financial information to prepare high-quality credit recommendations and lending solutions that support member success.
Completing financial analysis, cash flow assessments, and financial statement reviews to evaluate risk, repayment capacity, and overall business performance.
Collaborating with Business Advisors to manage member portfolios, complete annual reviews and renewals, and proactively monitor conditions, covenants, and emerging risks.
Ensuring credit files, documentation, and funding requirements are accurate, compliant, and aligned with Conexus policies and risk expectations.
Driving continuous improvement by identifying process enhancements, sharing expertise, and contributing to strong service, quality, productivity, and risk outcomes.

The way people describe you

You are analytical, detail-oriented, and enjoy turning complex financial information into clear, well-supported recommendations. You balance strong business acumen with a thoughtful approach to risk, using sound judgment to assess opportunities and identify practical solutions. Known for your organization and reliability, you consistently deliver high-quality work while managing competing priorities and deadlines. You are also a collaborative partner who values strong relationships, communicates effectively, and is always looking for ways to improve processes and outcomes.

  The experience you bring

Post-secondary education in Business, Agriculture, Finance, or Economics or a related field
2+ years of experience in a business lending role, supporting commercial credit adjudication

Well-developed credit underwriting and risk assessment ability

Financial statement knowledge, including ratio analysis and cash flow

Various Conexus locations will be considered, however not all locations may be able to accommodate this role.

Salary Range:

$84,030 - $112,040 with 15% Short Term Incentive Target

Benefits and Perks

The success of our members relies heavily on the performance and accomplishments of our employees. That’s why we prioritize offering our team a variety of perks and benefits designed to support their success and well-being both at work and in their personal lives. Some of these additional benefits may include, but are not limited to:

Preferred rates for all your banking needs helping to make life more affordable.

Generous vacation benefits with additional paid days off giving you time to spend on what’s most important to you.

Competitive benefit package options covering off all aspects of personal wellness.

7% pension matching after one year of employment to support you towards retirement.

We are excited to welcome candidates who bring a blend of academic, professional and volunteer experience that sets them apart. Research shows that many applicants tend to apply only when they meet every qualification of the role. However, we encourage you to explore opportunities that closely match your skillset and experience. We truly value diverse backgrounds and varied experiences, as we are dedicated to creating inclusive and diverse workplaces. You might just be the ideal addition to our team that we’ve been searching for! This opportunity closes on September 10, 2026, so apply now! If you have questions about this position, please contact Monique Chaban at jobs@conexus.ca.
