Original job description

At Conexus, we are focused on supporting our members with their needs of today, while also helping them pursue their goals for the future. It’s more than conducting a banking transaction, it’s about providing insightful content, tools, expert advice, and a full suite of products to inspire confidence in their financial decision-making. We prioritize performance excellence, and our employees champion each member’s success, ultimately contributing to a thriving province.

We are curious, courageous, confident and committed. Our values ensure we consistently deliver outstanding member experiences. As employees, we are more than just individuals who come to work each day, each role is a vital part of Conexus.

As of January 1, 2026, Conexus, Cornerstone, and Synergy credit unions have merged into one provincial credit union serving over 200,000 members in 57 branches across 50 Saskatchewan communities.

We acknowledge that our Conexus offices and facilities are located on Treaty 2, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 lands. These are the traditional lands of the Cree, Dakota, Dene, Lakota, Nakota and Saulteaux peoples, as well as the homeland of the Métis.

The bigger picture

We’re looking for a strategic, collaborative, and proactive leader to come on board as our Manager, Treasury Risk. In this role, you’ll provide leadership and subject matter expertise over Conexus’ balance sheet risk management functions, including cash management, liquidity risk management, asset liability management, and interest-based pricing. You’ll play an important role in helping ensure risks and opportunities affecting the balance sheet are identified, analyzed, and optimized in alignment with Conexus’ strategy, policies, risk appetite, and regulatory expectations.

How you’ll be spending your time

Leading the development and execution of treasury risk management strategies related to cash, liquidity, asset liability management, interest rate risk, and interest-based pricing.
Monitoring internal and external environments to identify emerging balance sheet risks and opportunities.
Providing expert advice and recommendations to senior leadership on treasury-related risk matters.
Overseeing liquidity risk management frameworks, including liquidity policies and risk tolerances, stress testing, contingency planning, market access, and related monitoring and reporting.
Supporting and maintaining key treasury risk plans and frameworks.
Providing oversight of asset liability management frameworks, assumptions, scenario analysis, and reporting to support sound balance sheet decision-making.
Ensuring interest rate risk is measured, monitored, and managed within approved risk tolerance thresholds.
Providing oversight of interest-based pricing across loan and deposit products to support financial performance, competitive positioning, member outcomes, and risk appetite.
Monitoring market conditions, competitive dynamics, pricing trends, and internal performance drivers to inform pricing recommendations and actions.
Providing business ownership and oversight of the loan pricing tool, including pricing logic, assumptions, outputs, exception frameworks, and related governance.
Supporting ALCO and other governance forums through timely, clear, and well-documented risk reporting and analysis.
Overseeing scenario-based planning, stress testing, and financial risk analysis to support forecasting, capital planning, and ICAAP.
Providing daily oversight of cash and foreign exchange management to ensure related strategies comply with policy, regulation, and governance standards.
Leading, coaching, and developing Treasury Risk team members.

The way people describe you

A strategic and analytical thinker who can connect balance sheet risks, financial performance objectives, market conditions, and enterprise priorities.
A trusted advisor who provides clear, practical, and well-supported recommendations to leaders and stakeholders.
A collaborative partner who builds strong relationships while providing thoughtful oversight and effective challenge.
A detail-oriented professional who values sound governance, clear documentation, and strong risk management practices.
A confident communicator who can translate complex treasury risk concepts into meaningful insights for decision-making.
A people-focused leader who coaches, develops, and enables others while creating clarity and accountability.
A resilient and organized leader who can prioritize effectively, lead through complexity, and support disciplined execution.

The experience you bring

Professional financial designation, accounting designation, or graduate-level education in finance or accounting, such as CFA, CPA, MBA, MPAcc, or MSc.
Minimum of five years of experience in a complex financial environment.
Strong knowledge of treasury risk management, including cash management, liquidity risk management, asset liability management, interest rate risk, pricing, foreign exchange management, and related regulatory expectations.
Experience with financial systems software, Microsoft Office Suite, and analytical tools; knowledge of Bloomberg is considered an asset.
Strong analytical, research, facilitation, planning, and project management skills.
Demonstrated ability to provide advice and recommendations on complex financial, risk, and governance matters.
Experience leading, coaching, developing, and enabling team members.
A strong understanding of risk governance, stress testing, capital planning, ICAAP, and financial institution regulatory expectations.

Benefits and perks

The success of our members relies heavily on the performance and accomplishments of our employees. That’s why we prioritize offering our team a variety of perks and benefits designed to support their success and well-being both at work and in their personal lives. Some of these additional benefits may include, but are not limited to:

Generous vacation benefits, giving you time to spend on what’s most important to you
Competitive benefit package options, covering all aspects of personal wellness
Pension matching to support you towards retirement
Preferred rates for all your banking needs, helping to make life more affordable

We are excited to welcome candidates who bring a blend of academic, professional and volunteer experience that sets them apart. Research shows that many applicants tend to apply only when they meet every qualification of the role. However, we encourage you to explore opportunities that closely match your skillset and experience. We truly value diverse backgrounds and varied experiences, as we are dedicated to creating inclusive and diverse workplaces. This opportunity closes on October 8, 2026, so apply now!
