Original job description

At Conexus, we are focused on supporting our members with their needs of today, while also helping them pursue their goals for the future. It’s more than conducting a banking transaction, it’s about providing insightful content, tools, expert advice, and a full suite of products to inspire confidence in their financial decision-making. We prioritize performance excellence, and our employees champion each member’s success, ultimately contributing to a thriving province.

We are curious, courageous, confident and committed. Our values ensure we consistently deliver outstanding member experiences. As employees, we are more than just individuals who come to work each day, each role is a vital part of Conexus.

We acknowledge that our Conexus offices and facilities are located on Treaty 2, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 lands. These are the traditional lands of the Cree, Dakota, Dene, Lakota, Nakota and Saulteaux peoples, as well as the homeland of the Métis.

The bigger picture
We’re looking for a collaborative, steady leader with Conexus East (Legacy Cornerstone) or Conexus West (Legacy Synergy) core banking experience to come on board as our temporary Team Lead or Manager, Core Banking Integration, for up to a 12-month term.

In this role, you will lead the team responsible for the successful conversion of Legacy Synergy and Legacy Cornerstone core and digital banking systems to a unified target-state core banking ecosystem. By providing direction and collaboration, you will help the organization navigate change while protecting system quality and the member experience.

This role may be filled at the Team Lead or Manager level, depending on the successful candidate's experience.

How you’ll be spending your time

Providing direction and clarify to the team, breaking down complex tasks to clear steps and helping the team stay focused.
Supporting product and system knowledge across the team to support them in becoming confident, reliable experts for the organization.
Leading testing and issue resolution, removing roadblocks, helping prioritize issues, working with project and technical teams to ensure problems get resolved quickly.
Supporting documentation and training efforts, ensuring the team captures learnings, changes, and updates in a clear and practical way.
Working with the Learning and Development Team to ensure training materials match operational realities.
Guiding the team through change, helping to navigate uncertainty, communicating clearly, listening actively, and helping employees and departments adapt to new ways of working.
Identifying risks early and supporting quality standards, watching for gaps, inconsistencies and potential risks. Ensuring the delivery of accurate work that supports a smooth member experience.
Coaching, developing and supporting the team, providing regular feedback, mentorship, and encouragement.
Fostering a positive collaborative culture by building strong relationships within the team and across departments. Encouraging opening communication and teamwork during high-pressure periods of conversion.

The way people describe you

You are a calm, confident people leader who can bring clarity to complex system conversions and help teams understand both the “what” and the “why” behind their work. You bring a blend of strong core banking and conversion knowledge and excellent prioritization, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills, and are comfortable navigating competing demands. Approachable and steady under pressure, you communicate clearly, coach effectively, and foster trust and collaboration across teams during periods of significant change.

The experience you bring

Conexus East (Legacy Cornerstone) or Conexus West (Legacy Synergy) experience
Previous experience leading teams and projects
Previous conversion and/or merge experience
DNA knowledge, including front- and back-end knowledge
DNA data field knowledge
In-depth knowledge of legacy products and services
Knowledge of connected systems to core banking

We are excited to welcome candidates who bring a blend of academic, professional, and volunteer experience that sets them apart. Research shows that many applicants tend to apply only when they meet every qualification of the role. However, we encourage you to explore opportunities that closely match your skillset and experience. We truly value diverse backgrounds and varied experiences, as we are dedicated to creating inclusive and diverse workplaces. You might just be the ideal addition to our team that we’ve been searching for! This opportunity closes on September 17, 2026, so apply now! If you have questions about this position, please contact Aubrie Houk at aubrie.houk@conexus.ca or Lisa Castle at lisa.castle@synergycu.ca
