We are currently seeking experienced handheld dry-mix and wet robotic shotcreters for various positions across Canada. We are looking for operators with experience using the Aliva 252 dry-mix machine, Normet Spraymec MF 050, Getman ProShot, or a combination of this equipment.
Candidates with surface structural shotcrete experience may also be considered for training. ACI or EFNARC certification is preferred but not required.
General Responsibilities
- Inspect the workplace and confirm required scaling, ground support and surface preparation are complete before spraying.
- Complete equipment inspections and check safety devices.
- Set up equipment safely, maintain exclusion zones and work from an approved safe location.
- Apply shotcrete to the required thickness and profile while controlling rebound, overspray and material waste.
- Recognize poor coverage, shadowing, sloughing and other application defects, and report or correct them as directed.
- Complete thickness checks, spray test panels and assist with required QA/QC activities.
- Maintain clean equipment and work areas and provide a clear shift handover.
Handheld Dry-Mix Shotcreter | Aliva 252
- Set up, operate, shut down and clean the Aliva 252 dry-mix shotcrete machine.
- Inspect material feed arrangements, air supply, hoses, couplings, seals and nozzle components.
- Coordinate material feed and machine output with the nozzle operator and support crew.
- Control nozzle water, angle, distance and spraying technique to achieve proper placement.
- Troubleshoot feed interruptions, air leaks, blockages and wear-related issues within your training and authorization.
- Safely dismantle, inspect, clean and reassemble equipment according to manufacturer and site procedures.
Wet Robotic Shotcreter | Normet Spraymec MF 050 / Getman ProShot
- Safely tram, position and set up the sprayer.
- Operate the boom and remote control from an approved safe location.
- Coordinate shotcrete deliveries with the batch plant and transmixer operators.
- Control shotcrete output, air and accelerator dosage within approved settings.
- Troubleshoot material flow, accelerator dosing and spraying faults within your training and authorization.
- Complete thickness checks using approved methods, including SmartScan technology where equipped.
- Clean the pump, hopper, delivery system and nozzle and complete authorized daily maintenance.
Experience and Skills
- Underground shotcrete experience in handheld dry-mix application, wet robotic application or both.
- Hands-on experience with the equipment required for the position.
- Ability to spray backs and walls to the required thickness and quality.
- Practical troubleshooting skills and the ability to safely dismantle and reassemble equipment within your training and authorization.
- Ability to read ground support instructions and follow shotcrete specifications.
- Strong ground awareness, safe work habits and clear communication.
Additional Assets
- Experience in both handheld dry-mix and wet robotic applications.
- Experience applying fibre-reinforced shotcrete.
- Raisebore spraying experience.
- ACI or EFNARC certification.
