Original job description

Empowering Today, Shaping Tomorrow

We deliver complex building and infrastructure projects that drive excellence from inception to completion. Our mission is to empower our clients and teams to achieve unparalleled success by providing tailored, innovative consulting services - ensuring every project is executed with precision and impact.

But this work is about more than delivering projects - it’s about unlocking potential and creating lasting change. We foster an environment where people are supported, celebrated, and empowered to grow, learn, and achieve. Our culture fuels imagination, creativity, and bold thinking, and we see that reflected in both our work and the meaningful impact it has on the built environments we help shape.

Join us in shaping the future of capital project delivery.

The Role

As a Project Manager at Tiree, you will help deliver capital projects for clients in Ottawa, Ontario, from early planning and design through construction and closeout. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients, keeping projects on track across scope, schedule, budget, risk, and quality.

This role suits an organized, adaptable project manager who is comfortable working across a variety of project types and client environments. Experience working on complex federal government projects is preferred. Experience in sectors such as provincial and municipal government, defence, healthcare, post-secondary, laboratories and science facilities, heritage buildings, workplace fit-ups, and infrastructure is also highly valued.

Important: Please note this opportunity is being offered as a consulting and/or fixed-term contract engagement and is not a permanent full-time employee position.

What You’ll Do

Lead projects through each stage of delivery, from initiation and planning through design, construction, and closeout
Build and maintain project plans, schedules, and risk and issue tracking to keep work organized and on course
Support cost estimating and keep spending aligned with approved budgets
Review design and construction documents to confirm they meet client requirements and applicable codes, standards, and policies
Support procurement and coordinate the work of consultants and contractors
Visit project sites to review progress and confirm work aligns with approved plans and quality expectations
Keep clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams informed and aligned throughout delivery
Prepare clear progress reports and updates for clients

What You’ll Bring

4+ years of project management experience on building, construction, or infrastructure projects, ideally for public-sector or institutional clients
Experience managing scope, schedule, budget, risk, and quality from project start to finish
Working knowledge of design and construction documents, building codes, and procurement processes
A client-focused, consulting mindset, with strong technical skills and a practical approach to solving problems
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative approach to multidisciplinary teamwork
Steady under pressure and adaptable when priorities shift, especially in complex, fast-moving environments
A post-secondary degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field
Ability to work on-site in the National Capital Region (Ottawa–Gatineau)
Existing Government of Canada security clearance (Reliability, Secret, or Top Secret)

What We Offer

This is a contract role with an anticipated duration of approximately 1+ year.
Expected rate: $35 to $50 per hour for non-incorporated individuals. This range reflects a wide breadth of experience levels. Final rates will be determined based on an individual’s skills, experience and demonstrated impact.

At Tiree, we believe careers should be as unique as the individuals who build them. That’s why we offer our employees the opportunity to carve out a career pathway tailored to their ambitions, supported by the right training, tools, and mentorship to help them succeed.

We appreciate you taking the time to apply and are committed to getting back to you in a timely manner and delivering an efficient and enjoyable interview process.

Note: Artificial Intelligence is not involved in the screening or selection of candidates. Those decisions are made entirely by real, actual humans. While we may use AI for small administrative tasks during the recruiting process, the evaluating and choosing of candidates is strictly human powered.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Be you.

We strive to create a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion where everyone at Tiree feels welcome, supported and celebrated. There is dynamism and pride in a community shaped by diverse voices, perspectives and lived experiences. We want to empower you to be you.

We are extremely proud of our teams – they are strong, determined, dedicated people who aspire to excellence, and they make our organization better every day. Our goal is to meet that standard of excellence in our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility and for our teams to reflect the wonderful diversity of the communities in which we live and work.

We are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workforce. As part of this commitment, we strive to provide a selection process that is accessible to all candidates. Please advise if you require any accommodations to ensure your equal participation.
