Tjara Canada is looking for an experienced investment professional to join Tjara Investments as a Vice President and help develop and grow its investment business in Canada.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Commerce or a related field. CFA, CIM, MBA or similar qualification is an asset. •
Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in investments, asset management, wealth management, capital markets, private markets or financial services. •
Canadian Market Knowledge: Good understanding of Canada's investment industry, products and regulatory environment. •
Investment Expertise: Experience with investment products, funds, portfolio/investment analysis, private investments or alternative investments. •
Business Development: Ability to identify new investment opportunities, develop products, and establish relationships with asset managers, fund managers, financial institutions and other strategic partners. •
Leadership & Team Building: Strong leadership and entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability and willingness to build and lead a team over time as Tjara Investments grows. •
Halal Finance Knowledge: Basic understanding of Halal/Islamic finance and investment principles, supported by relevant education, training or practical experience. Further specialized knowledge would be an asset. •
Communication: Strong presentation, negotiation and relationship-management skills, with the ability to represent Tjara professionally with clients, partners and industry stakeholders. •
Travel & Industry Representation: Willingness to travel across Canada and internationally, including attending relevant industry conferences, events and meetings to represent and promote Tjara Investments and develop strategic relationships. •
Regulatory: Relevant Canadian securities qualifications/registrations would be an asset and may be required depending on the responsibilities of the position.
Work Eligibility: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and preferably based in the Greater Toronto Area. IDEAL CANDIDATE A senior investment professional who combines investment expertise, business development, industry relationships and leadership capabilities, understands the fundamentals of Halal and ethical finance, and has the entrepreneurial drive to build a team and grow Tjara Investments into a strong investment platform in Canada and beyond.
