We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Pickering, Ontario.
About the Role
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production and facility equipment to support safe, reliable, and GMP-compliant manufacturing operations.
This is a hands-on position working closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and other operational teams to minimize equipment downtime and maintain a high level of equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery and facility equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and basic control-system issues
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and production maintenance requests
- Repair, replace, adjust, and test equipment components
- Support production equipment start-ups, shutdowns, and changeovers
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and maintain accurate maintenance records
- Perform or support equipment calibration and verification activities as required
- Support facility systems including HVAC, lighting, utilities, and other building equipment
- Complete work orders and maintenance documentation in accordance with GMP requirements
- Enter and maintain maintenance information within the CMMS
- Support equipment-related investigations, CAPAs, deviations, and continuous improvement activities as required
- Monitor critical spare parts and communicate inventory requirements
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including applicable lockout/tagout requirements
- Work collaboratively with Production, Engineering, Quality, and other departments to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education or technical training in Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical discipline
- Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Experience with industrial machinery, motors, sensors, pneumatic systems, conveyors, and production equipment
- Working knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and industrial control systems is an asset
- Familiarity with CMMS systems is an asset
- Ability to read technical manuals, drawings, and schematics
- Experience in a GMP, pharmaceutical, food, medical device, CPG, or other regulated manufacturing environment is an asset
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and GMP compliance
Schedule
This position works a rotating shift schedule and may include days, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays based on the established rotation and operational requirements. Overtime may also be required when necessary.
