Senior Consultant, Software Delivery Developer - Gen AI and AI-Accelerated Modernization

Toast is recruiting on behalf of one of the world’s largest professional services firms, a global leader in audit, tax, and advisory with more than 10,000 people across Canada. We’re looking for a Senior Consultant, Software Delivery Developer to join their Gen AI and Software Delivery team in Montreal or Quebec City. This team helps major organizations build, modernize, and run their software using modern engineering practices, cloud platforms, and AI-enabled delivery. In this full-time role, you’ll design and build high-quality solutions, guide technical decisions with clients, and mentor consultants as the firm scales AI-accelerated modernization across Canada.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and deploy software components, APIs, integrations, and cloud-based solutions
• Lead smaller technical workstreams or features from design through implementation
• Partner with architects, managers, project managers, product owners, and client teams to clarify requirements and delivery priorities
• Contribute to solution design, estimation, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and technical documentation
• Take part in code reviews and help raise engineering standards across test coverage, security, and maintainability
• Use AI-assisted delivery tools responsibly to speed up development, testing, analysis, and documentation
• Troubleshoot issues across application, data, infrastructure, and deployment layers
• Mentor consultants and help build a collaborative, learning-focused team culture
  
  

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience designing and developing software solutions
• Strong hands-on development experience with C# and .NET, plus one or more modern languages or frameworks such as Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python
• Experience with APIs, databases, cloud services, integration patterns, and modern application architectures
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, including application, integration, data, DevOps, or cloud-native services
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, DevOps practices, and agile delivery
• Ability to analyze technical problems, communicate options, and recommend practical solutions
• Genuine interest in Gen AI, AI-assisted engineering, prompt patterns, and AI-accelerated SDLC practices
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, working well both independently and on multidisciplinary teams
• Fluency in French and English, written and spoken, as the role serves English-speaking clients and colleagues across Canada
• University degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
