We’re looking for a Senior Consultant, Software Delivery Developer to join their Gen AI and Software Delivery team in Montreal or Quebec City. This team helps major organizations build, modernize, and run their software using modern engineering practices, cloud platforms, and AI-enabled delivery. In this full-time role, you’ll design and build high-quality solutions, guide technical decisions with clients, and mentor consultants as the firm scales AI-accelerated modernization across Canada.

Responsibilities

Design, build, test, and deploy software components, APIs, integrations, and cloud-based solutions
Lead smaller technical workstreams or features from design through implementation
Partner with architects, managers, project managers, product owners, and client teams to clarify requirements and delivery priorities
Contribute to solution design, estimation, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and technical documentation
Take part in code reviews and help raise engineering standards across test coverage, security, and maintainability
Use AI-assisted delivery tools responsibly to speed up development, testing, analysis, and documentation
Troubleshoot issues across application, data, infrastructure, and deployment layers
Mentor consultants and help build a collaborative, learning-focused team culture

Requirements

4+ years of experience designing and developing software solutions
Strong hands-on development experience with C# and .NET, plus one or more modern languages or frameworks such as Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python
Experience with APIs, databases, cloud services, integration patterns, and modern application architectures
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, including application, integration, data, DevOps, or cloud-native services
Experience with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, DevOps practices, and agile delivery
Ability to analyze technical problems, communicate options, and recommend practical solutions
Genuine interest in Gen AI, AI-assisted engineering, prompt patterns, and AI-accelerated SDLC practices
Strong written and verbal communication skills, working well both independently and on multidisciplinary teams
Fluency in French and English, written and spoken, as the role serves English-speaking clients and colleagues across Canada
University degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, science, or a related field, or equivalent experience

Experience with Next.js would be a plus

Benefits

Compensation on the posting is for base salary. Total compensation includes base salary + annual bonuses.
Comprehensive health, dental, and wellness benefits plus a retirement savings program
Paid professional development, certifications, and continuous learning in Gen AI and cloud engineering
Flexible hybrid work from Montreal or Quebec City
Hands-on experience with the AI tools and practices reshaping how enterprise software gets built
Direct impact modernizing systems for some of Canada’s largest organizations, work that touches millions of Canadians
A clear path to grow into technical leadership by leading workstreams and mentoring the next wave of consultants
Application Review

Submit your application, including your resume and cover letter, through our online portal. Our team will carefully review your qualifications and experiences. We take pride in responding promptly, so if your application aligns with our current opportunities, you’ll hear back from us with next steps. Your journey with Toast begins here, and we’re excited to see what you bring to the table!

Vetting Call

If your application is successful, we’ll schedule a vetting call with a member of the Toast team. This 30-45 minute informal conversation is designed for us to get to know you better and assess your skills. Be prepared to discuss your past projects, the challenges you’ve tackled, and the impact you’ve made. This is your chance to shine and show us why you’re a great fit for the roles we offer.

Profile Creation

Once you’ve impressed us in the vetting call, we’ll create an unbiased profile that highlights your experience while minimizing common biases. Instead, we focus on your skills, industry experience, and the impact you’ve made. This way, your profile reflects your true potential and accomplishments.

Client Submission

After crafting your unbiased profile, we submit it to our trusted clients. We work closely with these clients to ensure they understand the value you bring. Throughout their interview process, we remain by your side, providing support and guidance. Our goal is to help you navigate the hiring process smoothly and confidently, ensuring you have the best chance to secure a role that fits your skills and aspirations.
