The Opportunity

Reporting to the AVP, Operations, and working closely with business leaders and your peers, we are looking for a Delegated Authority Manager to join our team. Our focus is simple - create the best team of professionals in the business. What You Will Be Doing

The Delegated Authority Manager is responsible for overseeing the operational management of Delegated Underwriting Authority (DUA) programs. Key accountabilities include ensuring accurate and timely entry of bordereaux data into TMCAN’s systems; supporting associated system setups; coordinating and executing onboarding and renewal due diligence; and delivering performance reporting for delegated authority programs.

The role leads the Delegated Underwriting Authority team and collaborates closely with internal stakeholders, including Underwriting, IT, Finance, Actuarial, Compliance, and Claims, as well as external partners such as managing general agents (MGAs) and brokers.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

Oversee the day-to-day operational management of DUA programs and related processes.
Manage the translation, validation, and entry of premium bordereaux data submitted to TMCAN, ensuring compliance with applicable data standards and internal requirements.
Partner directly with delegated authority partners and underwriters to resolve data-quality issues and ensure all required reporting is timely, accurate, and complete.
Lead and complete due diligence for new DUA relationships and renewals, coordinating required reviews, documentation, and follow-up actions.
Coordinate and take ownership of the necessary system setups for new and renewing DUA programs, including any testing and readiness activities.
Prepare and deliver monthly and quarterly performance reports in collaboration with Underwriting, Finance, Actuarial, Claims, Compliance, and other internal stakeholders.
Support audits of DUAs as required, including bordereaux reporting and data quality testing, sample selection of underwriting files for file review, etc.
Develop, document, maintain, and monitor operational best practices for DUA programs.
Lead and contribute to cross-functional initiatives with internal stakeholders to enhance the efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness of DUA operations and resolve operational or technical issues.
Provide operational insight and recommendations to support the development and execution of TMCAN’s DUA strategy.
Day-to-day management of the DUA Assistants; including mentoring, coaching, and performance discussions.

What You Bring

A bachelor’s degree
Five to seven years of commercial insurance experience; experience with delegated underwriting authority programs is an asset.
Demonstrated experience implementing strategic and operational initiatives within commercial insurance.
Experience with binder management, bordereaux processing, and related insurance systems.
Experience conducting due diligence for new DUA relationships and supporting ongoing oversight.
Strong business analysis skills, including assessing business needs, defining and documenting requirements, evaluating change impacts, and communicating effectively with stakeholders.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop team members to achieve expected outcomes; previous people-management experience is preferred.
Proven ability to build trusted relationships and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and issues, and recommend improvement opportunities.
Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel - including pivot tables and formulas - as well as Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
A high level of attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
Completion of, or progress toward, a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) or Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) designation is an asset.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is (80,000-100,000). Compensation may vary for roles in other regions to reflect local market conditions and currency differences. For experienced professionals, offers are typically positioned near the midpoint of the range. The upper end of the range is reserved for individuals who consistently deliver exceptional performance and impact. Candidates who are newer to the role may start below the midpoint, with opportunities to progress as they develop. Final offer decisions take into account factors such as location, relevant experience, and individual skill set.
