Original job description

Owner Operators Wanted | Western Canada | Run Under Our Authority or Your Own | Canada Only or Canada/USA

Top Deck Transportation is growing, and we’re very busy. We’re looking to add professional Owner Operators who want steady freight, fair compensation, and a company that backs them up.

About Us

Top Deck Transportation provides reliable freight and logistics services to a diverse range of clients. We’re built on safe, efficient, and timely delivery, and on long-term partnerships with the Owner Operators who make it happen. We value clear communication, fair pay, and consistent work, and we hold ourselves to high operational standards with a safety-first culture.

What We Offer

Full-time, consistent freight with plenty of work available
Run under our authority, or run for us with your own authority
Your choice of lanes: Canada only or Canada/USA
Bring your own trailer or use one of ours
Fair, transparent compensation: full package available upon request
Responsive dispatch and clear communication
Ongoing support to help you succeed in your day-to-day operations
A professional team that respects your time and your business

About the Role

This is a full-time, on-site Owner Operator position based in Western Canada. Whether you operate under Top Deck’s authority or bring your own, you’ll run and maintain your own commercial vehicle and move freight safely and on time, representing Top Deck Transportation professionally with customers, shippers, and receivers.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Safely transport freight to designated locations on schedule
Plan routes and manage trips efficiently
Complete required documentation, logs, and delivery confirmations
Coordinate with dispatch, shippers, and receivers
Load and unload as needed
Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance to keep your truck road-ready
Resolve issues on the road quickly and professionally

What You Bring

Valid commercial driver’s license and a clean driving record
Experience operating heavy vehicles in regional or long-haul routes
Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and hours-of-service rules
Solid trip planning and route optimization skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Reliability, strong time management, and the ability to problem-solve in changing road and weather conditions
A well-maintained commercial truck that meets company and regulatory specifications (or a willingness to acquire one)
Comfort with mobile and onboard systems for logs, delivery confirmations, and communication
Previous Owner Operator or professional driving experience strongly preferred
