Role Description The Red Seal Welder role at TopWeld Training is a full-time, on-site position located in Edmonton, AB. The Red Seal Welder will perform high-quality welds using various processes, including MIG, TIG, arc, and related techniques, on a range of materials according to project specifications. Responsibilities include reading and interpreting blueprints and welding procedures, setting up and maintaining welding equipment, and inspecting finished work for quality and adherence to safety standards. The role also involves collaborating with instructors and team members to support training activities, maintaining a clean and safe shop environment, and following all applicable regulations and best practices. The welder may assist in demonstrating proper welding techniques and safe work habits to learners, contributing to a professional and supportive training setting.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in core welding processes, including Welding and Arc Welding.
- Demonstrated skills in TIG Welding and MIG Welding for diverse applications.
- Solid understanding of Materials used in welding, including properties, preparation, and appropriate welding methods.
- Red Seal Welder certification or equivalent journeyperson status, with up-to-date safety training (e.g., WHMIS, PPE use).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings accurately.
- Experience with welding equipment setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting in a shop or industrial environment.
- Commitment to safe work practices, attention to detail, and consistent production of high-quality welds.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work respectfully in a diverse, inclusive environment and support a professional training atmosphere.
