Torngat Metals is seeking a qualified Senior Communications Advisor to join its team located in Montreal. Reporting to the Director of Communications, this role is responsible for contributing to the development and execution of communications plans, projects, and campaigns that support the organization’s community relations, stakeholder engagement, partnerships, and corporate objectives.
The successful candidate will support stakeholder engagement by developing tailored communication materials and strategic messaging. They will create high-quality communication materials, provide strategic communications advice and support by developing key messages and communication tools, and help ensure brand consistency across all communication channels.
As a senior member of the communications team, the incumbent will provide advice and recommendations to support organizational priorities, community engagement activities, stakeholder relationships, and reputation management efforts. The role will evolve in alignment with the company’s growth and development and the project’s advancement into operations.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and implement integrated communication strategies, plans, projects, and campaigns that support stakeholder engagement, and corporate objectives.
- Create and deliver high-quality communication materials, including web content, newsletters, presentations, fact sheets, key messages, briefing notes, speaking points, FAQs, and stakeholder communications.
- Develop tailored communication materials and strategic messaging for diverse audiences and stakeholder groups.
- Provide strategic communications advice and recommendations to internal teams, ensuring consistency and alignment of messaging across the organization.
- Collaborate with the communications team to develop digital content, manage social media activities, contribute to website content, and monitor traditional and social media trends to inform communication efforts.
- Support reputation management efforts and help identify communication opportunities and potential issues that may impact the organization’s reputation.
- Champion the consistent application of Torngat Metals’ brand standards, voice, and visual identity across all communications and stakeholder-facing materials.
- Contribute to the development of communication tools, processes, and best practices, while measuring the effectiveness of communication initiatives and recommending opportunities for continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in communications, public relations, or stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English, as the role requires regular communication with internal and external stakeholders, including partners, consultants, and other stakeholders located outside Quebec.
- Strong strategic thinking and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Demonstrated experience developing key messages, briefing materials, presentations, communication strategies, and tailored communication materials for diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Expertise in social media and website management, content creation, and analytics.
- Familiarity with Canva and other design tools; experience with additional design software is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience working in the mining industry is considered an asset.
