The Apprenticeship Specialist plays a critical role in supporting apprentices, leaders, and stakeholders throughout the apprenticeship journey while ensuring compliance with provincial requirements and alignment with business objectives. This role serves as a central resource for apprenticeship administration, program coordination, stakeholder engagement, and reporting. The successful candidate will help drive apprentice development, support workforce planning initiatives, and contribute to the long-term growth of Toromont Cat's technical talent pipeline.

In a typical day, YOU will:
- Provide proactive guidance and support to apprentices, supervisors, managers, and branch leaders throughout all stages of the apprenticeship program.
- Coordinate apprentice progression activities, including registrations, training requirements, school scheduling, and regulatory compliance.
- Act as a subject matter resource on apprenticeship policies, procedures, government programs, grants, incentives, and funding opportunities.
- Liaise with provincial ministries, educational institutions, Caterpillar representatives, internal stakeholders, and external partners to support apprenticeship initiatives.
- Monitor apprentice development and progression to ensure alignment with organizational workforce and training objectives.
- Maintain accurate apprentice records, databases, and reporting systems while ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Develop and distribute regular reports, metrics, and key performance indicators to support decision-making and program effectiveness.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within apprenticeship and technical training programs.
- Support workforce development initiatives, talent pipeline programs, recruitment events, and other strategic projects as required.
- Collaborate with the Technical Training team on special projects and initiatives that support organizational goals.
Must-haves for this role:
- Minimum three years of experience in apprenticeship administration, workforce development, human resources, training coordination, education administration, or a related field.
- Experience working with apprenticeship programs, skilled trades, technical training, or workforce development initiatives is considered an asset.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience with HRIS, Learning Management Systems, or similar technologies is considered an asset.
- Willingness to travel as required in support of business objectives
- Valid driver's licence with a satisfactory driver's abstract.
- Bilingualism in English and French, both spoken and written, is considered a strong asset.
