You will coordinate contractors and subcontractors, maintain construction sequencing and help ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required engineering and quality standards.

This is a hands-on field leadership role with significant responsibility for contractor performance, construction progress and coordination between engineering, construction and commissioning teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee electrical and instrumentation contractors and subcontractors in the field.
  • Coordinate daily construction activities and ensure work aligns with the overall project schedule.
  • Monitor contractor productivity, manpower and execution performance.
  • Ensure electrical and instrumentation installations meet engineering specifications, quality requirements and applicable industry standards.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to resolve field issues and maintain construction progress.
  • Participate in constructability reviews and construction planning.
  • Identify and support the resolution of deficiencies, non-conformances and field changes.
  • Maintain appropriate construction records and field documentation.
  • Support construction estimating, scheduling, cost control and progress reporting.
  • Act as a primary site contact for contractors working within assigned E&I areas.
  • Coordinate electrical construction activities with mechanical, piping, civil and other project disciplines.
  • Support system completion, turnover, commissioning and start-up activities.
  • Develop safe work plans and ensure site procedures are consistently followed.
  • Support contractor workforce planning and field resource requirements.
  • Work closely with the Construction Manager to achieve key project milestones.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Approximately 10+ years of progressive experience in industrial electrical and instrumentation construction.
  • Significant field leadership experience on large industrial or capital projects.
  • Previous experience as an E&I Superintendent, Electrical Superintendent, General Foreman, Construction Manager or similar senior field leadership position.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing large contractor or trades workforces.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical construction and instrumentation installation.
  • Experience with process plants, industrial expansions, major shutdowns or greenfield construction projects.
  • Exposure to commissioning, system completion and start-up activities.
  • Strong understanding of construction safety, quality and field execution.
  • Experience working within EPC or EPCM project environments is highly desirable.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and construction documentation.
  • Technical diploma, trade certification or equivalent combination of technical training and extensive supervisory experience.

This is a rotational site-based opportunity in Northern British Columbia and offers the chance to play a senior field leadership role on a major Canadian resource development project.
