Senior Accountant

Torus Talent is connecting with experienced Senior Accountants across Vancouver and the Lower Mainland as we continue to build our network of finance and accounting professionals for upcoming opportunities with our clients.

We work with organizations across a variety of industries, including manufacturing, distribution, professional services, technology, mining, and other commercial sectors.

We are interested in speaking with Senior Accountants who are considering their next career move, whether that involves taking on greater responsibility, joining a growing finance team, or transitioning into a new industry.

Typical Responsibilities

Depending on the organization and position, responsibilities may include:

• Managing month-end and year-end close processes.
• Preparing financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Maintaining general ledger accuracy and performing account reconciliations.
• Preparing journal entries, accruals, and financial analysis.
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Coordinating external audits and regulatory reporting.
• Overseeing or supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Supporting ERP implementations and financial systems improvements.
• Mentoring junior accounting staff.

Qualifications and Experience

We are particularly interested in candidates who offer:

• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• A CPA designation or active progress toward completion.
• Strong knowledge of ASPE and/or IFRS.
• Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with accounting or ERP systems.
• Experience with systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, or similar.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience in industry or public practice.
