Our client, a well-established civil contractor, is looking for an experienced Superintendent to oversee projects throughout Northern and Interior BC. This is a fly-in/fly-out position working on a rotational schedule.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience overseeing self-performed underground utilities, earthworks, and roadworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily site activities for civil construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications.
- Manage self-performed underground utility, earthworks, and roadwork scopes.
- Lead and provide direction to foremen, operators, labourers, and subcontractors.
- Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and work sequencing.
- Work closely with Project Managers, engineers, inspectors, consultants, and municipal representatives.
- Review drawings and specifications and ensure construction activities meet project requirements.
- Monitor productivity, quality, project schedules, and costs.
- Lead toolbox meetings and maintain a strong safety culture on site.
- Identify field issues and work with the project team to develop practical solutions.
- Complete daily reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent overseeing civil construction projects.
- Strong experience with self-performed underground utilities, earthworks, and roadworks.
- Previous experience working with municipalities, inspectors, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of civil drawings, specifications, construction methods, and project sequencing.
- Proven ability to lead field teams and coordinate multiple scopes of work.
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work a fly-in/fly-out rotation throughout Northern and Interior BC.
