Compensation: 50 to 55K per year
Role Summary
TPH is looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Administrator to join our Finance team. The Accounting Administrator will support day-to-day accounting activities across the Finance function, with a strong focus on Accounts Payable, transaction processing, reconciliations and supporting accurate financial records.
Previous hands-on Accounts Payable experience is required and would suit someone who enjoys working in a busy, transaction-driven finance environment where accuracy, organization and follow-through are important. Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) would be a strong asset.
The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the Finance team as well as TPH's Local Production Centres and other departments across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Process accounting transactions accurately and on a timely basis.
- Support Accounts Payable activities, including processing and coding vendor invoices, reviewing supporting documentation and assisting with vendor account administration.
- Confirm appropriate authorization has been obtained before transactions are processed.
- Assist with the preparation and processing of vendor payments.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and investigate invoice, payment and account discrepancies.
- Review and determine appropriate accruals for month-end and year-end close.
- Assist with banking and other routine Finance administration and transaction processing.
- Support month-end activities, including reconciliations, schedules and follow-up of outstanding items.
- Maintain organized, complete and audit-ready financial documentation.
- Work within established Finance policies, approval requirements and internal controls.
- Participate in Finance process improvements, system changes, testing and documentation.
- Provide general accounting and administrative support to the Finance team as required.
- Previous hands-on Accounts Payable experience in a corporate Finance or accounting environment.
- Experience processing vendor invoices and working with purchase orders, approvals and payment processes.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles, transaction processing and reconciliations.
- Strong attention to detail, organization and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with vendors, customers and internal teams.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a Finance team.
- Previous experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) or another ERP/accounting system.
- Experience working across both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Experience with electronic invoice processing, workflow/approval systems or AP automation.
- Experience supporting month-end close and reconciliations.
- Highly accurate and detail oriented.
- Organized and comfortable managing a high volume of transactions.
- Able to investigate issues rather than simply process transactions.
- Dependable and able to follow established controls and procedures.
- Comfortable learning new systems and processes.
- Collaborative and service-oriented when dealing with colleagues, vendors and customers.
