About Trace
Trace is building AI-native freight software for shippers, brokers, and carriers. We bring the work of running freight, from quoting and booking to tracking and invoicing, into one platform, with AI agents built into the workflows.

You’ll work directly with Noam, our founding engineer, and Lucas, our CTO, with meaningful ownership of what we build and how we build it.
How we work
Claude Code and Codex are central to our development process. We invest in the tools, context, and automated checks around them so we can take on more ambitious work with a small team.
Your job is to turn a problem into working software: understand it, make good decisions, give agents the right context, inspect the result, and validate that it works.
You should be able to explain the system, catch mistakes in generated code, and stand behind what you ship.
We care about what you can build, your judgment, and how effectively you use the tools available to you.
What you’ll do
- Own features across the interface, backend, database, and integrations.
- Turn messy operational problems into clear, useful product experiences.
- Use coding agents to build, test, debug, and ship complete features.
- Improve our agent harnesses: the instructions, tools, environments, and checks that make automated development reliable.
- Validate work with code review, automated tests, and end-to-end checks of real user workflows.
- Make architecture decisions and own reliability, security, and performance.
You’ll fit here if
- You’ve built complete applications and can explain how they work.
- You’re comfortable tracing a problem from the UI through an API to the database.
- You already use AI deeply in development and have a repeatable process for checking its work.
- You know how to write tests that catch meaningful failures and can recognize when passing tests leave something unverified.
- You work independently, have opinions, and change your mind when the evidence changes.
- You look for ways to automate repetitive work and improve how much a small team can deliver.
- You move quickly, care about the details, and make progress when requirements are incomplete.
How to apply
Apply through LinkedIn.
Include something you’ve built: a product, repository, demo, or short walkthrough.
- Tell us what you owned, how you used AI, how you validated the result, and one difficult decision you made.
