About Trail Hub
Trail Hub is a one-of-a-kind destination nestled in the conservation forests outside Uxbridge, Ontario. Situated on 140 acres of private land with direct access to over 240 km of trails, Trail Hub offers a unique combination of outdoor adventure, elevated farm-to-table dining, and unforgettable events.
We are home to Nest restaurant, premium weddings and events, and a full recreation experience including hiking, mountain biking, disc golf, and more.
Whether guests come for a quiet trail walk, a farm-to-table meal, a wedding, or a full-day corporate retreat, we’re committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences at every turn.
Trail Hub has grown rapidly, and our next phase requires stronger systems, financial discipline, leadership development, and operational consistency across our hospitality business.
About the Role
The Director of Food & Beverage is a senior leadership role responsible for the overall performance of Trail Hub’s food and beverage operations, including Nest restaurant, weddings, banquets, corporate events, beverage operations, and other hospitality experiences.
This role goes well beyond managing daily service.
The Director will own the financial and operational performance of the department, establish systems and standards, develop leaders, manage labour and cost controls, improve reporting, and ensure Trail Hub consistently delivers an exceptional guest experience while achieving its financial objectives.
Working closely with Trail Hub leadership, Culinary, Events, Finance, and the Banquet & Restaurant Manager, the Director will translate strategy into disciplined daily execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and accountability for Trail Hub’s food & beverage operation
- Own and manage departmental revenue, labour, cost of goods, margins, budgets, forecasts, and overall financial performance
- Develop annual operating plans and budgets and establish measurable KPIs for restaurant and banquet operations
- Establish clear weekly and monthly reporting for revenue, labour, food cost, beverage cost, contribution margin, guest experience, and other key operating metrics
- Analyze performance and take corrective action when results fall outside established targets
- Lead, coach, and develop the Banquet & Restaurant Manager and other hospitality leaders
- Work closely with culinary leadership to align menu strategy, pricing, food costs, staffing, production, and service execution
- Establish appropriate staffing structures, scheduling standards, productivity expectations, and labour targets
- Build and continuously improve SOPs, training programs, opening and closing procedures, service standards, and management systems
- Oversee restaurant, banquet, bar, and event service standards across the organization
- Create clear accountability and communication between Food & Beverage, Culinary, Events, Finance, and Operations
- Ensure BEOs and event requirements translate into effective staffing, production, setup, service, and execution
- Establish effective inventory, purchasing, receiving, waste, and cost-control processes
- Manage supplier and vendor relationships and identify opportunities to improve pricing, quality, and efficiency
- Oversee beverage programming, inventory, pricing, and profitability
- Monitor guest feedback and establish systems for service recovery and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with AGCO requirements, Smart Serve, health and safety requirements, employment standards, food safety regulations, and internal policies
- Support the development of new hospitality concepts, revenue opportunities, experiences, and operational improvements
- Participate as a member of Trail Hub’s leadership team and contribute to the broader strategic direction of the organization
What We’re Looking For
- 7+ years of progressive food & beverage or hospitality leadership experience
- 3+ years in a senior management or multi-department F&B leadership position
- Proven experience managing restaurant, banquet, hotel, resort, event venue, private club, or similarly complex hospitality operations
- Demonstrated ownership of a significant F&B P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, labour management, food cost, beverage cost, and profitability
- Strong financial literacy and ability to turn operating data into clear decisions and action
- Proven ability to build systems, processes, standards, and accountability within a growing organization
- Strong people leadership skills with experience developing managers and building high-performing teams
- Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership capabilities
- High level of personal accountability, judgement, organization, and problem-solving ability
- Comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on when required
- Experience with restaurant POS, scheduling, inventory, reservation, and financial reporting systems
- Smart Serve certification required
- Food safety certification required or ability to obtain
- Flexible availability including evenings and weekends when business needs require leadership presence
- Reliable transportation to Trail Hub in Uxbridge
Why Join Trail Hub?
- Take ownership of a significant and growing hospitality operation
- Help shape the next phase of Trail Hub’s restaurant, wedding, banquet, and event business
- Build the systems, team, and operating structure rather than simply inheriting an established corporate playbook
- Work in a unique 140-acre destination surrounded by some of Ontario’s best trail networks
- Join an organization focused on growth, operational excellence, exceptional experiences, and continuous improvement
- Enjoy Trail Hub staff perks across food, beverage, and recreation
How to Apply
If you are an experienced, commercially minded hospitality leader who knows how to build strong teams, create operational discipline, and improve both guest experience and financial performance, we’d love to hear from you.
