The Opportunity

We're looking for a hungry, competitive Sales Development Representative (SDR) to help fuel our growth.

You'll be on the front lines identifying and qualifying opportunities with facility directors, energy managers, and real estate executives at companies operating 150+ locations nationwide.

This isn't simply cold calling uninterested prospects. You'll be reaching decision-makers who are already under pressure to reduce costs and achieve their sustainability targets.

If you can open doors, qualify effectively, and hand off opportunities that close, there is significant earning and career-growth potential. Our top SDRs have moved into Account Executive roles within 18–24 months, and several are now earning $200K+ in their second year.

What You Will Do

Prospecting & Outreach - 60%

Identify and research target accounts across retail, QSR, grocery, hospitality, healthcare, and other multi-site verticals.
Execute multi-channel outreach campaigns through phone, email, and LinkedIn to engage facility directors, VPs of Operations, energy managers, and sustainability leaders.
Leverage the Trane Technologies relationship and existing customer base to create warm introductions.
Book qualified discovery meetings for Account Executives, with a minimum target of 12–15 per month.

Qualification & Discovery - 30%

Run initial qualification calls using our diagnostic selling framework.
Understand prospects' current HVAC challenges, energy costs, sustainability goals, and decision-making processes.
Identify technical fit - including building types, square footage, and existing systems - and commercial fit, including budget authority, timeline, and multi-site footprint.
Score opportunities using our qualification criteria and accurately forecast pipeline.

Collaboration & Feedback - 10%

Partner closely with Account Executives to ensure smooth handoffs and successful conversions.
Provide market intelligence on competitor positioning, objections, and messaging effectiveness.
Contribute to refining scripts, email templates, and qualification criteria.
Help newer team members ramp faster by sharing what's working.

What You Will Bring

Must-Haves

3.5 years of experience as an SDR, BDR, or in inside sales within B2B technology, SaaS, or commercial services.
A proven track record of exceeding activity metrics and quota.
The ability to confidently engage senior executives by phone - you're comfortable navigating VP-level conversations.
Strong business acumen and curiosity about building operations, energy economics, and sustainability.
A self-starter mentality - you figure things out and don't wait to be told what to do.
Strong CRM discipline, using Salesforce or a similar platform, with clean and current data.

Nice-to-Haves

Experience selling to facility management, real estate, operations, or sustainability teams.
Knowledge of commercial real estate, HVAC systems, energy management, or building automation.
Background in multi-site retail, hospitality, healthcare, or QSR industries.
Familiarity with diagnostic selling, MEDDPICC, or similar qualification frameworks.

What Won’t Work

This role isn't for someone who simply wants to check boxes and hit minimum activity numbers. We're looking for someone who wants to create opportunities, deliver results, and actively contribute to the team's growth.

Language Requirements

French-English bilingualism is required.
In addition to fluency in French, successful candidates must have full professional proficiency in English in order to support and collaborate with English-speaking clients, colleagues and/or various stakeholders.

As detailed in the job description, this position requires regular oral and written communication with other Trane teams located across Canada and occasionally the United States, with English speaking customers across Canada, and with English speaking vendors or supplier across Canada and occasionally the United States. Based on an assessment of the duties of this position, we have determined that the position requires daily oral and written use of English, in addition to French.
