Trans Mountain Corporation operates Canada’s only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. We deliver approximately 890,000 barrels of petroleum products each day through a dual pipeline system of more than 1,150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta, British Columbia and Washington state.

Trans Mountain also operates a state-of-the-art loading facility, Westridge Marine Terminal, with three berths providing tidewater access to global markets.

As a federal Crown corporation, Trans Mountain continues to build on more than 70 years of experience delivering operational and safety excellence through our crude oil pipeline system.

With our expanded pipeline system now in place, Trans Mountain provides enhanced direct access for Canadian crude oil to world markets. Trans Mountain is seeking a collaborative, motivated, and values driven individual to join our dynamic team as Team Lead, Data & Systems. In this position, you will play a key role in leading the technology, systems, and data enablement strategy that supports Compliance, Risk, Security, Training, and other ISLMS programs. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in data governance, integrated technology solutions, system governance, operational excellence, reporting, audit readiness, and informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and influence strategy, implementation, governance, and continuous improvement of technology platforms, system configurations, integrations, workflows, and access models.
Support Compliance, Risk, Security, Training, and ISLMS program objectives.
Oversee the implementation of data governance frameworks, standards, and business processes.
Ensure trusted, accessible, and actionable information is available to support assurance, CAPA, investigations, controls, reporting, and enterprise decision-making.
Lead and support the implementation of automation, workflow optimization, reporting capabilities, system enhancements, and integration initiatives.
Improve accountability, lifecycle visibility, audit readiness, and cross-functional learning.
Lead, develop, and influence System Support and Performance & Reporting resources by providing strategic direction, coaching, and oversight.
Ensure the effective implementation of technology-enabled processes, reliable user support, trusted data management, and alignment with enterprise technology standards and IT governance requirements.
Establish priorities, guide decision-making, and align resources across System Support and Performance & Reporting activities.
Ensure technology, data, reporting, and process improvement initiatives are delivered in alignment with business needs, enterprise standards, and governance requirements.

Qualifications and Professional Experience

Post-secondary education in Commerce, Engineering, Science, or related discipline.
Professional certifications in data management, governance, risk, compliance, information security, business analysis, project management, or continuous improvement are considered an asset.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
Experience developing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining management systems.
Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, auditing, risk management, and corrective action management.
Experience with KPI reporting and performance measurement.
Proficiency with IT systems and platforms such as Enablon, ISNetworld, Totara, SharePoint, and Power BI.
A consistent track record of delivering high‑quality work, managing competing priorities, and supporting key business processes or operational functions.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds and levels across the organization.
Effective communication skills, including the ability to convey information clearly, respectfully, and professionally.
Commitment to inclusive practices and a willingness to contribute positively to a collaborative and supportive workplace culture.
