ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Tax Analyst to join our Corporate Tax Team on a Full-Time basis. In this role, you’ll report to the Supervisor, Corporate Tax and play a key part in the day-to-day functions of the tax team.

This position is based out of our Downtown Calgary Head Office, with the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

Prepare quarterly tax provision working papers, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and analyses
Support the preparation of Canadian corporate income tax returns and other compliance filings
Support the preparation and filing of indirect tax returns (GST/HST, PST, and other applicable jurisdictions)
Assist with tax audits by compiling requested information and maintaining organized supporting documentation
Participate in improving tax processes, templates, and documentation by identifying inefficiencies and supporting implementation of improvements
Responding to tax queries and providing support to internal operations and finance personnel
Draft tax research memos and assist with special projects such as reorganizations, acquisitions and other ad hoc tax projects as required.

ABOUT YOU

Business/Accounting degree or equivalent;
CPA designation;
3-5 years of Canadian corporate tax experience;
Pursuing or planning to pursue CPA In-Depth Tax Program;
Strong knowledge of IFRS and tax accounting;
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel;
Experience with SAP/S4 Hana and Corporate TaxPrep software is considered an asset;
Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills, and excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment;
Skilled in collecting and analyzing complex data and drawing logical conclusions;
Excellent teamwork and team building skills.
