Transdev Canada is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our Calgary team.

Temporary | Full-Time | Calgary, AB

Are you a curious, relationship-driven recruiter who wants to understand how a complex business truly operates?

At Transdev, our Western Canadian operations span multiple provinces, communities, contracts and modes of transportation. Each operation has its own workforce, operational realities and recruitment challenges.

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will work closely with hiring leaders across the region to understand their business needs, provide practical recruitment advice and develop strategies that attract the right talent. You will build the trust and credibility needed to become a genuine partner to the business.

This role goes beyond posting jobs and waiting for applications. We are looking for someone who asks thoughtful questions, challenges assumptions, understands the market and takes ownership of finding the right talent.

Your Role

Build strong, trusted relationships with hiring leaders across Western Canada, becoming a valued recruitment advisor and business partner.
Develop a strong understanding of our diverse operations, including their people, communities, contracts and workforce challenges.
Meet with hiring leaders to understand the business need behind each vacancy and translate it into a focused and practical recruitment strategy.
Provide recruitment advice on candidate profiles, market conditions, sourcing strategies, selection methods and hiring decisions.
Manage multiple operational, professional and corporate searches while balancing competing priorities in a fast-paced, unionized environment.
Develop clear, compelling and inclusive job postings that accurately communicate the opportunity and attract qualified candidates.
Proactively source and engage both active and passive candidates through LinkedIn, Indeed, social media, professional networks, referrals and other creative sourcing strategies.
Build and maintain talent pipelines for recurring and business-critical positions.
Conduct structured, meaningful interviews that go beyond the résumé to understand candidates' experience, capabilities, motivation and suitability for the role.
Partner with hiring leaders throughout the interview and selection process to support consistent, informed and evidence-based hiring decisions.
Bring solutions and alternative approaches when recruitment challenges arise and remain persistent when qualified candidates are difficult to find.
Provide clear recruitment updates, market insights and recommendations to hiring leaders and other stakeholders.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of recruitment tools, processes, reporting and resources.
Ensure recruitment activities comply with applicable legislation, company policies and established procedures.
Occasionally travel to operations across Western Canada to build relationships and gain a deeper understanding of the environments and roles for which you recruit.

Your Profile

At least 3 years of experience in talent acquisition, recruitment or full-cycle recruitment, with a strong preference for agency recruitment experience.
Demonstrated ability to build credibility, trust and productive relationships with hiring leaders.
A consultative, business-partner approach supported by strong curiosity, sound judgment and a willingness to ask questions.
Experience managing multiple searches with competing priorities and varying levels of complexity.
Strong interviewing skills, with the ability to probe, clarify and assess candidates beyond their résumé.
Proven ability to source and engage passive candidates rather than relying solely on incoming applications.
Proficiency with LinkedIn, Indeed, social media and other recruitment or networking platforms.
Strong planning, organization, coordination and negotiation skills.
A proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to anticipate the needs of hiring partners.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A commitment to delivering a positive, professional and respectful experience for candidates and hiring leaders.
Experience recruiting within transportation, operations or a unionized environment is considered an asset.
Post-secondary education or certification in Human Resources is considered an asset.

Your location:

Full-time, temporary position based in Calgary, Alberta.
Occasional travel to Transdev operations across Western Canada may be required.
