General presentation

TransPerfect’s Montreal-based office is looking for English-to-French translators with varying levels of experience (intermediate or senior) in banking and insurance. You will be responsible for the translation and bilingual proofreading of documents for a diverse range of clients. TransPerfect offers the opportunity for hybrid work arrangements from our downtown Montreal location.

Job description

Translate and revise high-visibility content within the banking and insurance sectors.
Provide translations tailored to the French-Canadian market using, among other things, idiomatic expressions.
Be a brand ambassador by becoming an extension of the client’s brand within TransPerfect and maintaining brand consistency across all projects.
Use and update translation memories and glossaries.
Manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
Keep project managers informed of the status of each project and meet internal and client deadlines.
Perform administrative tasks as needed to support your work and the company’s key performance indicators.
Participate in the training of new team members and freelancers, and provide feedback, as needed.
Act as a representative of the Linguistics Department, by engaging with clients to better understand their preferences, updating style guides, glossaries, instructions, and reference documents, and resolving issues as they arise.
Make recommendations to your supervisor on ways to improve processes as part of TransPerfect’s Montreal office commitment to continuous improvement.

Evolution

First month:
Get trained on TransPerfect’s translation software and other applicable company platforms.
Get to know banking and insurance clients and receive projects as a brand translator.
Second month:
Successfully complete the brand translator training while demonstrating a good understanding of the assigned brands.
Start projects as a brand proofreader.
Third month:
Successfully complete the brand proofreader training and demonstrate the ability to work independently using all applicable files.
Receive training on the various platforms of banking and insurance clients and begin direct communication with the assigned clients.

Être propriétaire de marque en devenant une extension de la marque du client au sein de TransPerfect et en maintenant la cohérence de la marque dans tous les projets.
Utiliser et mettre à jour les mémoires de traduction et les glossaires.
Composer avec de multiples projets et priorités dans un environnement dynamique.
Tenir les gestionnaires de projet au courant de l’évolution de chaque projet et respecter les délais internes et des clients.
Réaliser des tâches administratives en temps opportun à l’appui de votre travail et des indicateurs de rendement clé de la société.
Participer, à l’occasion, à la formation de nouveaux membres de l’équipe et de pigistes, et leur fournir de la rétroaction, au besoin.
Représenter, à l’occasion, le Service langagier lors de communications avec un client pour mieux comprendre ses préférences, mettre à jour ses guides stylistiques, ses glossaires, ses instructions et ses documents de référence, et régler les problèmes à mesure qu’ils se posent.

Évolution

Premier mois :
Suivre les formations sur les logiciels de traduction de TransPerfect et sur d’autres plateformes applicables de l’entreprise.
Apprendre à connaître les clients du domaine bancaire et des assurances et recevoir des projets en tant que traducteur de la marque.
Deuxième mois :
Terminer avec succès la formation pour être un traducteur de la marque tout en démontrant une bonne compréhension des marques attribuées.
Commencer des projets en tant que réviseur de la marque.
Troisième mois :
Terminer avec succès la formation pour être un réviseur de la marque et être en mesure de travailler de manière autonome en utilisant tous les fichiers applicables.
Recevoir des formations sur les différentes plateformes des clients du domaine bancaire et des assurances et commencer à avoir une communication directe avec les clients attribués.
