Hub Manager
- Location: Mississauga, ON
- Type: Full-time, Permanent
- Experience Level: Intermediate
- Team: Hub Operations
- Reports to: Director, Hub Operations
- Status: Net new role, addition to the existing team
Role Summary
Trexity is hiring a Hub Manager to run our 5k+ sq. ft. Mississauga hub, the operational heart of same-day delivery across the Greater Toronto Area. This is a net-new role that joins our existing Hub Operations team.
Our hub is where merchant orders come in, get sorted and staged, and go out with Trexity couriers on time. As Hub Manager, you own everything that happens inside it: safety, accuracy, throughput, cost, and the experience of the merchants and couriers who depend on it.
You'll lead the hub team day to day, set the operating rhythm, and hold the site to clear standards. You'll be the final accountable owner for hub performance, from first inbound to last outbound.
We're scaling quickly, and volume doesn't wait for a perfect process. You'll build structure where it's missing, anticipate constraints in labour, space, and throughput before they bite, and turn data into decisions.
You'll work closely with Courier Operations, Merchant Success, Support, and Product to fix root causes, not just symptoms. What you learn on the floor will shape how Trexity designs hubs in new markets. This role is for an operator who leads from the floor, cares about people, and is energized by building something rather than maintaining it.
Key ResponsibilitiesHub Leadership & Team Development
- Serve as the on-site leader for the Mississauga hub; hiring, onboarding, coach, and developing hub associates
- Set clear expectations, operating rhythms, and performance standards for every level of the team
- Own hub culture and engagement, and address underperformance quickly and fairly
Operational Excellence & Compliance
- Own end-to-end hub performance: safety, quality, labour productivity, and cost
- Be the final accountable owner for hub SOPs, workplace health and safety standards, and regulatory compliance
- Run daily inbound, sortation, staging, dispatch, and returns workflows to hit cut-off times
- Manage workforce planning, scheduling, and the hub labour budget against forecast volume
- Track hub KPIs daily and act fast when trends signal risk by anticipating constraints in labour, space and throughput
- Own the hub's operating plan, aligning people, process, and space with current and future volume
Merchant & Courier Experience
- Set and enforce standards for scan accuracy, on-time dispatch, and package handling
- Create a smooth, efficient pickup experience for Trexity couriers at the hub
- Use data to find the root causes of late, missed, damaged, or mis-sorted deliveries
- Partner with Merchant Success and Support to resolve escalations and prevent repeat issues
Cross-Functional Partnership & Continuous Improvement
- Work with Courier Operations, Product, and Engineering to improve hub tools, scanning, and routing workflows
- Lead cross-functional projects that fix systemic issues rather than one-off symptoms
- Document what works so the Mississauga hub becomes the playbook for future Trexity hubs
- Bring floor-level insights to leadership to inform network-wide decisions
How You'll Work
- On-site at the Mississauga hub, leading from the floor rather than from a desk
- Flexible schedule, including some early-morning, evening, and weekend coverage to support a multi-shift operation
- Close daily collaboration with Courier Operations, Merchant Success, and Support
- High ownership and autonomy in a fast-growing company where processes are still being built
Success Metrics
- Zero lost-time safety incidents and full compliance with hub SOPs and audits
- On-time dispatch rate and cut-off adherence at or above target
- Scan and sort accuracy, with declining rates of missed, damaged, or mis-sorted packages
- Labour productivity (packages per labour hour) and cost per package within budget
Skills & QualificationsRequired
- 3+ years of team leadership in high-volume operations, such as last-mile delivery, parcel, fulfillment, warehousing, grocery, or retail
- Proven experience leading teams of 10+ people, including other leads or supervisors
- Strong working knowledge of Ontario workplace health and safety requirements
- Data-driven, with confidence in Excel or Google Sheets (formulas, pivot tables), using KPIs to run a shift and developing strategies/playbooks to operationalize metrics
- Comfort with ambiguity and rapid change, and a track record of building structure where none exists
- An ownership mindset and a people-first leadership style
- Post-secondary education or equivalent professional experience
Preferred
- Experience in same-day or last-mile delivery, especially working with independent courier networks
- Experience opening, scaling, or redesigning a hub, cross-dock, or distribution site
- Exposure to lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methods
Tools & Technologies
- Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides)
- Warehouse, scanning, and dispatch tools (we use our own Trexity platform)
- Workforce scheduling and time-tracking tools
- Navigating dashboards and BI tools for KPI reporting
AI Use Transparency
