Original job description

Company Description Tricon Solutions has been engaged by a leading specialty construction company in New Brunswick for help to find a strong Senior Project Manager to join their team. This is a permanent employee role.

They specialize in the design and construction of commercial and institutional facilities such as hotels, schools, and hospitals. With a strong corporate culture, they’re positioned for significant growth over the next three to five years, and they have a proven commitment to delivering quality projects on time and on budget.

The Senior Project Manager role is the senior leadership layer within the Construction PMO; personally overseeing the company’s highest-risk and highest-value projects and developing its Project Managers.

Location and Relocation The Company’s head office is in Moncton/Dieppe and will be the preferred location for candidates. Candidates could also be based out of satellite locations in Fredericton, NB or Charlottetown, PEI. You to be in-office or on job-site five days a week. Some travel to job sites and projects will also be expected.

You must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident. Relocation assistance will be available, if applicable.

Role Description In the Senior Project Manager Construction role you will be responsible and accountable for the following:

  • Project Management: Lead and oversee complex, high-risk and high-value commercial, institutional and hospitality projects (typically $10–18M), owning financial performance, schedule control and contractual compliance. Work closely with site leadership, estimating, finance, safety and operations, support the handoff from bid to execution, and manage client expectations.
  • Project Supervision: Organize, direct, and evaluate projects from start to finish - on schedule, on spec, and on budget. Act as the escalation point when projects go yellow or red, reviewing schedules, budgets, forecasts and change orders and stepping in early. Adhere to the established PMO governance regarding administrative reports and costing. Participate in negotiations for contract revisions, change requests, and ensure material and equipment availability.
  • Leadership & Employee Development: Mentor, coach and develop team members. You will participate in the hiring, onboarding and training of new team members, and ensure that operational standards, work techniques and safety practices are applied on all projects.
  • Health & Safety: Audit job sites for regulatory compliance; ensure safety training; investigate incidents and file reports. Ensure supervisors are implementing safety regulations and policies.
