Original job description

ABOUT TRIDYNE PROJECTS

Tridyne Projects is an established multi-discipline, full service EPC / EPCM consulting firm based in Calgary, Alberta. Our work spans Engineering and Detailed Design, Project Management, Procurement, Construction Support, Pipeline Inspections, and Field Auditing, and our client relationships include some of the industry's leading energy companies.

We're a team of experienced technical professionals who enjoy sharing what they know. Our people bring deep industry experience, and we value the opportunity to build long-term relationships with both clients and colleagues. We believe the key to our development is our team of knowledgeable, innovative, and energetic professionals who are committed to providing exceptional quality, service, and value to our clients.

At the same time, we're focused on building a team where people can do great work, grow their careers, and have a real impact. Industry-leading salaries, flexible schedules, autonomy, and company events are all part of the Tridyne Projects experience. We are also pretty proud of our unofficial Tridyne sports teams: dodgeball, softball, table tennis…to name a few.

Big enough for big opportunities. Small enough for everyone to know your name.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Build your pipeline engineering experience. Work on meaningful projects. Learn from people who know the industry.

Tridyne Projects is looking for an Intermediate Pipeline Engineer to join our team in downtown Calgary.

You’ll contribute to pipeline engineering projects within an EPC environment, working alongside project managers, engineers and other technical disciplines to help deliver quality work that meets project requirements, applicable codes and regulatory standards.

This role offers the opportunity to build on your existing pipeline engineering experience, take on increasing responsibility and learn from experienced professionals.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Support pipeline engineering projects from early planning and design through to project execution and closeout.
Assist with the development of design bases, project scopes, budgets, schedules and engineering deliverables.
Prepare and contribute to design basis memoranda, engineering calculations, technical specifications and other project documentation.
Review project specifications, drawings and technical documents for accuracy, completeness and compliance with applicable codes, standards and requirements.
Support pipeline design activities, including the selection and specification of equipment and materials.
Coordinate engineering activities and information with project managers, designers, other engineering disciplines, clients, vendors and contractors.
Assist with cost estimating, AFE preparation, resource planning and project budget tracking.
Contribute to the preparation and review of technical documents, equipment specifications and construction work packages.
Apply relevant Alberta and British Columbia pipeline regulations, codes, standards and industry practices to project work.
Support quality assurance and quality control by checking engineering deliverables and ensuring work meets project and client requirements.
Provide project updates and technical information to internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain accurate project documentation and support organized project closeout.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

A relevant degree in engineering, with eligibility for registration as an Engineer-in-Training or Professional Engineer in Alberta.
Experience in pipeline engineering, preferably within an oil and gas or EPC environment.
Familiarity with pipeline engineering requirements in both Alberta and British Columbia.
An understanding of the regulatory requirements, codes and standards applicable to pipeline projects in both jurisdictions.
Knowledge of pipeline design principles, engineering calculations, equipment specifications and technical documentation.
Experience reviewing engineering drawings, specifications and project deliverables.
Familiarity with project planning, scheduling, estimating, budgeting and coordination in an engineering environment.
Working knowledge of engineering design software and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, vendors and contractors.
Good organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
A collaborative, down-to-earth approach, with a willingness to learn, share ideas and take ownership of your work.
Enthusiasm for pipeline engineering, and a genuine interest in being part of a team that delivers quality work.

WHY TRIDYNE?

Do Great Work. Have a Life. Be Part of the Team.

Learn From the Best: Work alongside experienced engineering and project professionals who are accessible and willing to share their knowledge.
Own Your Work: Tridyne gives people the autonomy to manage their responsibilities and expects them to take ownership.
Work That Matters: Support real energy projects and see how your technical decisions contribute to the work.
Know Your People: Join a smaller team where people know one another and work together beyond their individual disciplines.
Work Hard. Live Well: Flexible schedules and a culture that respects family, hobbies and life outside work.

READY TO JOIN US?

If all of the above sounds like a potential fit and you’re looking for a role where you can use those skills while becoming a broader project professional, we'd like to hear from you.

Please submit your resume in confidence to careers@tridyne.ca. We’d like to thank all candidates for their interest; however, only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
