THE OPPORTUNITY

Tridyne Projects is looking for a Structural Designer to join our Calgary team and contribute to engineering projects across the energy industry.

Working alongside experienced designers, engineers and other technical disciplines, you’ll help develop structural designs and drawings that support project requirements, construction needs and applicable codes and standards.

This is an opportunity for someone with a foundation in structural design who wants to continue developing their technical skills, take on meaningful project work and contribute to a team that values quality, practical solutions and getting the details right.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Develop and maintain 2D and 3D structural designs for energy, industrial and infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare structural layouts, plans, sections, elevations, details and general arrangement drawings.
  • Develop and maintain structural 3D models using applicable CAD and structural design tools.
  • Interpret engineering sketches, design criteria, structural calculations, specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Prepare structural steel and concrete detailing, connections, supports and foundations as required by project scope.
  • Incorporate engineering markups, vendor information, field measurements and site information into design deliverables.
  • Coordinate structural design with piping, mechanical, electrical and other engineering disciplines.
  • Identify design conflicts and work with the project team to develop practical solutions.
  • Apply client specifications, project standards and applicable codes to structural design work.
  • Support field reviews, site visits, tie-in verification and as-built updates as required.
  • Maintain drawing revisions and ensure design changes are accurately incorporated.
  • Manage assigned work and deliverables to meet project schedules.
  • Communicate design requirements, technical issues and progress with project leads and other disciplines.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • A diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Structural Design Technology or a related technical discipline.
  • Structural design experience, within oil and gas, energy, industrial or EPC/EPCM environments.
  • Proficiency with the structural design and drafting software required for the role.
  • Experience developing and maintaining structural models and producing associated design deliverables.
  • A strong understanding of structural layouts, steel detailing, foundations, connections and structural components.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, structural calculations, specifications, vendor information and design criteria.
  • Familiarity with applicable industry codes, client standards and drafting practices.
  • Experience coordinating design work with other engineering disciplines.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and accuracy.
  • An enthusiastic approach to your work, a willingness to learn and a genuine interest in contributing to the team.
  • The ability to manage assigned work, meet deadlines and communicate effectively with colleagues across disciplines.
  • A collaborative, down-to-earth approach and a willingness to share knowledge and help others.

READY TO JOIN US?

If all of the above sounds like a potential fit and you’re looking for a role where you can use those skills, we'd like to hear from you.
