Founder’s Associate: Film & Company Growth

Location: Vancouver or Toronto

Schedule: Flexible

Compensation: Unpaid

About Trillium Entertainment Ventures

Trillium Entertainment Ventures is a new Canadian film distribution company and the distribution arm of a Vancouver-based production studio. We work with independent filmmakers to help their films find audiences, partners, and distribution opportunities.

We are also an executive producer on a major feature film set in Vancouver with a recognizable cast. Trillium is still at an early stage, and we’re looking for someone who wants to help build the company alongside us.

The role

You’ll work closely with the founder across film distribution, business development, marketing, and day-to-day operations. The work will vary. You might research a film or festival, help prepare for a partner meeting, plan social content, update the website, or make sure a promising conversation gets followed up.

You’ll help with:

  • Researching films, filmmakers, festivals, distributors, platforms, and potential partners
  • Supporting film acquisition and distribution projects
  • Building Trillium’s presence through social media, the website, and other marketing work
  • Organizing projects, meetings, and follow-ups
  • Finding practical ways to improve how the company works and grows
Who we’re looking for

We’d especially like to hear from someone who is already involved in film, whether through school, filmmaking, festivals, production, distribution, or their own projects. You’re interested in both the creative and business sides of the industry.

  • You communicate clearly, stay organized, and follow through. You’re comfortable taking initiative in a small company where there isn’t always a set process to follow.
  • Students are encouraged and preffered to apply, and you don’t need experience in every part of the role.
