About Us

Trim It All Inc. is a full-service trim, millwork, cabinetry, and interior door supply-and-install company serving residential builders and contractors throughout the Ottawa region. Now in our ninth year, have grown rapidly and expect that trajectory to continue over the next several years.

Career Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to join our team as an Operations Manager. Reporting to the owner, in this role you’ll be responsible for owning day-to-day operations and turning complexity into clear, repeatable systems. You'll ensure that sales commitments turn into profitable, on-time execution; warehouse, shop, and installation productivity are measurable; scope, inventory, and payments are controlled; and ownership is removed from daily fire-fighting.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You will be on the floor, in the warehouse, in the office, and on job sites – not just behind a desk.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Project Delivery

  • Partner with the Sales Manager to establish a disciplined sales-to-operations handoff, ensuring scope, pricing, requirements, and timelines are clearly documented before work begins.
  • Establish clear processes for change management, custom work, scheduling, and project execution.
  • Lead Project Managers and ensure they have the information, processes, and accountability needed to deliver effectively.

Production, Inventory & Purchasing

  • Oversee warehouse, millwork and trim shop operations, including production, inventory, purchasing, and operational scheduling
  • Establish and track productivity measures for millwork production, picking, and staging.
  • Improve inventory and purchasing controls to prevent shortages and over-ordering, standardize supplier and pricing decisions, and reduce reliance on the owner.

Systems, Controls & Performance

  • Establish and monitor operational KPIs, including productivity, scheduling, inventory, job changes, and other measures of operational performance.
  • Provide leadership with clear, actionable insight into operational performance and areas for improvement.
  • Oversee administrative and payment controls, ensuring established payment requirements are consistently enforced.
  • Lead the implementation and adoption of operational software, establishing consistent workflows, usage standards, and accountability.

Leadership & Accountability

  • Provide hands-on leadership across operations, creating clear roles, processes, and accountability.
  • Make sound decisions, address problems directly, and build alignment across teams.
  • Drive greater consistency and operational discipline as the company grows.

What Success Looks Like

  • Warehouse and shop productivity is measurable and consistently managed
  • Inventory ordering is controlled and predictable
  • Sales and Operations have a clear, disciplined handoff, with complete information before work moves into production
  • Project Managers receive the information and support needed to execute effectively
  • Payment requirements and operational controls are consistently enforced
  • Day-to-day operational decisions are handled without unnecessary owner involvement

Key Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, production, construction, or a similarly execution-focused environment, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Relevant post-secondary education; business administration, management, supply chain management, or a related field is an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with a hands-on approach to operations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with CRM/ERP systems, Excel, Stack, Cieblink, or similar construction and operational software.

Who This Role Is For

  • A hands-on operational leader who is analytical, practical, and comfortable working close to the day-to-day operation.
  • An even-keeled, decisive leader who can make difficult calls, address problems directly, and build buy-in across teams.
  • Someone comfortable navigating conflict, challenging established practices, and holding people accountable.
  • A systems-oriented problem solver who can bring greater structure, consistency, and discipline to a growing business.

Compensation:

  • Salary range: $95,000-$145,000 based on experience and ability
  • Opportunity to take on significant responsibility, shape your role and the team under you, and advance within a rapidly expanding business

This is an existing position. We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.

Trim It All is an equal opportunity employer and accommodates people with disabilities throughout the recruitment and selection process.
