About Us
Trim It All Inc. is a full-service trim, millwork, cabinetry and interior door supply-and-install company serving residential builders and contractors throughout the Ottawa region. Now in our ninth year, have grown rapidly and expect that trajectory to continue over the next several years.
Career Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead and develop our sales team. This is not a traditional sales management position built primarily around personally generating new business. The immediate need is for someone who can bring greater structure, consistency, and accountability to a growing team. We need a leader who can get people working from the same playbook, establish clear expectations, and ensure good sales practices are followed consistently.
In this role you'll ensure that the sales team operates as one coordinated unit, sales processes and expectations are clear, consistent, and followed, new salespeople are effectively onboarded, coached, and integrated into the team, the new CRM system is adopted and used consistently, customer commitments reflect what the business can realistically deliver, and Sales and Operations work together effectively.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You will be expected to understand what is happening across the sales pipeline, coach and challenge your team, solve problems, and build strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and manage the sales team, including establishing clear expectations and accountability across the team
- Bring consistency to how salespeople approach customers, opportunities, follow-up, and internal processes
- Support the onboarding and development of new sales team members
- Build a collaborative team that shares information and works toward common company objectives
- Establish and reinforce consistent sales processes and workflows
- Lead adoption of the company’s new CRM
- Ensure customer, opportunity, and sales information is accurately maintained
- Use sales information and performance data to identify issues and opportunities
- Look for practical ways to improve sales processes, including the appropriate use of new technology and AI tools
- Support the team in developing existing customer relationships and pursuing new markets, including providing leadership on significant or challenging customer situations, and helping salespeople assess opportunities realistically and make sound commercial decisions
- Ensure customers receive clear, consistent communication
- Work closely with operations to ensure commitments made by the sales team can be delivered
- Improve the quality and consistency of information moving from sales into execution
- Monitor sales activity and results and identify where additional coaching or intervention is required
- Bring an analytical approach to sales performance and decision-making
- Provide ownership with clear visibility into sales performance and emerging issues
Key Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing a sales team
- Strong people-management skills, including coaching, accountability, and performance management
- Experience establishing or improving sales processes in a growing business
- Strong analytical ability and comfort using data to inform decisions
- Experience with CRM systems and the ability to drive adoption of new processes and technology
- Strong customer relationship and communication skills
- Sound commercial judgment and the confidence to challenge decisions when necessary
- Excellent time-management and prioritization skills
- Experience in construction, building products, manufacturing, millwork, windows and doors, or a related environment is a strong asset
Who This Role Is For
- An experienced sales leader who gets satisfaction from making a team better
- Analytical enough to spot patterns and problems, but practical enough to act on them
- Direct and comfortable having difficult conversations
- A good listener who can get through to different personalities without wasting time
- Even-keeled under pressure and able to manage conflict constructively
- Comfortable challenging both employees and customers when the situation requires it
- Interested in building systems and capability rather than simply inheriting a sales territory
Compensation
- Salary range: $75,000-$115,000, based on experience and ability
- Opportunity to take on significant responsibility, shape your role and the team under you, and advance within a rapidly expanding business
This is a new position. We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
Trim It All is an equal opportunity employer and accommodates people with disabilities throughout the recruitment and selection process.
