Launch Your Engineering Career: Automated Test Engineering Intern (16-Month Co-op)

Are you ready to own a codebase end-to-end and see your technical contributions directly protect the user experience? Join Trimble as an Automated Test Engineering Intern, where you will build advanced web UI testing frameworks, integrate with real-time navigation simulation platforms, and gain high-value software engineering experience across our product ecosystem.

What Makes This Role Great:

In this role, you will bridge the gap between frontend UI testing and hardware simulation tools, driving software quality and system reliability while owning a scalable web automation framework from concept to deployment.

Key Exciting Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the design, construction, and deployment of scalable automated web UI testing frameworks integrated with real-time navigation systems.
  • Integrate automated UI test suites directly into continuous integration pipelines to prevent software regressions before production releases.
  • Partner with test engineers and software developers to maintain, update, and optimize real-time navigation simulation scenarios and automated test workflows.
  • Execute end-to-end test suites across web interfaces and simulation layers to analyze performance and report detailed technical feedback.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Active enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Availability for a full-time, 16-month placement starting in May 2027 located in Richmond Hill, Ontario.

  • Demonstrated programming capability in Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Java alongside solid Git version control skills.
  • Hands-on experience or coursework with web UI automation tools like Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or Puppeteer.

Bonus Points For:

  • Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop testing, Spirent automation tools, or location simulation software.
  • Exposure to spatial data, mapping interfaces, or real-time communication protocols like WebSockets and REST APIs.
  • Practical experience configuring CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
